Scattergories, Season 24

Scattergories is a "blind draft" league in which teams are built with owners submitting lists like the table-top party game "Scattergories."

In Round 1, all owners submit a list of 12 players.

• Any player submitted by only one owner becomes part of that owner's team, exclusively.
• Any player submitted by two or more owners is eliminated from the player pool.

In Round 2, each owner submits a list of players equal in number to his remaining roster spots.

• For example, if you submitted 4 unique player names and 8 duplicates in Round 1, you would make an 8-player list in Round 2.
• If you have 9 players after Round 2, you would submit a list of 3 players in Round 3, etc.

This process repeats until all 12-man rosters are completed! (It normally takes 5-7 rounds)

Rules

• Owners may submit their Round 1 ballots via sitemail to beloud as soon as they're ready.
• I have my Round 1 ballot ready, and I will reply with my ballot to the first 3 submissions each round so you can verify that everything is on the "up and up." (I will also reply with my ballot to any owner who requests) Please title the subject of your smail "Round 1 Ballot, 1st Rd Ballot" or something similar.
• Beginning Round 2, owners will have a maximum of 72 hours to submit their ballots. I will be strictly enforcing this rule. Holidays, weekends, etc. will not be excuses.
• We will switch to a 48-hour time limit to submit ballots once we get to the 4th round (or possibly 3rd) depending on how the draft goes.

• Make sure your spellings are correct.

• Do not include commas or use bullet points
• Do not use last name only or "last name first" format or use nicknames, etc.
• You do not have to include the player's season. You decide which season to use when you build your team.
• No salary cap, no clones

ronsouth sent me a site mail and I have been trying to respond, but I can't get past that "verifying you are human" thing.

Anyway, he wanted me to check this league out, but I have done that many times in the past. I think the whole idea is really really stupid for a basketball sim league, and besides, I don't want to play in another league where everybody wants the same 20 guys or so, Curry, LeBron, Jordan, Kareem, Wilt, Duncan, Stockton, etc....I'm tired of leagues where 14 teams have LeBron and 12 teams have Curry, and like that. I want a league where there is only one of each player, and preferably not modern players.

PS, I also can't stand all of these popup ads in this forum. The baseball game I have been playing at Imagine Sports, based on Pursue the Pennant, is far superior to the What If Baseball game, and the forums are WAY more active with no ads and no juvenile blocking out of profanity. They let adults be adults over there. They don't have a basketball game, and I like the Whatif basketball sim engine, but just not how the leagues are organized and the rules of putting a roster together.
