The Flyers need Briere & Knuble to step up or a goal by the Thoresen-Kapanen-Dowd line to jump start this thang.

Better period overall. That kind of hitting is gonna get to Malkin before it gets to Hartnell/Richards as the series moves on. Our D was a bit better but still pretty horrid, thing is theirs really isn't much better. If it were up to me I'd dress Downie next game to dig some of those pucks out of the corner and create some chances, we can score on these guys. I'd also dress Parent, he may not be fully ready for this yet but he's not Modry.

Flyers sure don't look like they want to win any battles.

We just don't have anyone to pass it out of our zone to create a rush. All they do is dump the puck down the ice, gonna be lots of icing calls in this series.

And where's the Briere line been? They should be having a field day against their third line.
5/9/2008 9:49 PM
wow. through and through this is maybe the ugliest game they've played. Guess the long lay off hurt them.

Hatcher looks like the injury has taken over him. I thought he played well in the 1st series, pretty bad in the Montreal series, he's looked awful here.

I felt Briere's line was pretty absent last series but Umberger & Biron's brilliance saved them from being exposed as the weak link. Completely transparent in this game.

Thankfully they've lost both game ones before this one so it's not exactly unchartered territory.

One down. The only only positive I see is that the Pens really didn't play very well either. Both Umberger and Carter could have had a pair of goals each, Carter really needed to bury it into that open net in the third. Without that Malkin shorty this may have been a different game and he never gets that chance with Parent on the ice, they really need to dress him.

Claude Girioux took MVP of the QMJHL. 48 points in 18 playoff games! AHL will be much different but can't wait to see this kid play at the next level.

...and vanRiemsdyk had a solid season @ UNH & was rookie of the month twice in the conference. DOn't think that there's enough ice time for him yet, but his development is encouraging.
