I guess I have to drop goalie Sanford from my Canadiens roster?

winnerpeg - nope, you don't have to drop him from your roster. He's under contract for '09-'10 (even if his name is greyed out - greyed out just means he's not expected to make opening roster, but he IS expected to play in the NHL this season).

I noticed that most owners included the greyed out players in their entered rosters, and that is what I wanted (sorry if that was unclear!).

As for taking another team, I will by the start of the real regular season if the league isn't filled by then.

I have the following 9 teams down thus far for taking part in the equalizer draft:

X - Anaheim Ducks
X - Calgary Flames (w/o Theo, may change)
X - Columbus Blue Jackets
X - LA Kings
X - Nashville Predators
X - New Jersey Devils
X - New York Rangers
X - Philadelphia Flyers
X - Tampa Bay Lightning

Let me know if your team should be on that list but isn't (pass on the payroll of that team as well, please!).

I've had problems with activeness for the "equalizer" draft in past leagues. It's simply going to be first come, first served after the 24 teams are taken. So check back often! :)

So yeah, it probably will be messy.

Random would be the 2nd worst approach, when there's that much salary max differences.
