Gene, I just noticed in the rules that you say any team that doesn't win 48 games drops to the last pick of the first round, for drafting.

I think that's a bit harsh, especially during the first couple seasons...there could be a couple tough luck teams.

Perhaps consider dropping a team out of the top five or top ten if they don't hit 48.

Gene has used the 48 game rule in his other progressives. it is there for a reason. he runs a damn good league and i see no reason to change anything. i trust his judgement. he is one of the best league commisioners i have come in contact with.he knows what he is doing.

thats the rule. its been there since you signed on. its been the rule in all the progs i run.

how about sitemailing me next time? im so glad this theme has caught on so quickly and ive been very accomodating to every request on this draft board but lets not analyze every single rule, it works and none of the owners in my other progs have complained. many of them are in this theme so im sure that means they dont mind the rule.

you can get thoughts from other owners but the rule isnt changing.

In my Sandlot prog which is 12 teams failure to win 48 drops you to #10 overall just before the WS participants. Its pretty tought to not be able to win 48 in this prog because we use 2000's and its only 12 teams so there are plenty of players to build a respectable team.

In my Doby league which is 16 teams and started in late 40s, failure to win 48 drops you out of lottery (which is worst 6 teams) we have had a team drop down to #7 twice. I guess when i wrote up rules for rico carty that didnt seem like a harsh enough penalty to me.

the rule is a deterrent to building a lousy team and im sure some people have one year wonder rookies on their teams to build respectable squads because that was the rule.

when i first starting playing in progs i always i hated seeing a team win 12 games one season and then 112 a season or two later. I'm not savvy enough to use any of the complex formulas some of my other WIS friends/co-commishes use, so i use this to avoid tanking or building crappy teams.

you guys are just cruel. grady is one of my favorite players but i have absolutely nowhere to put him. i sure hope someone is going to need to trade for a good CF at some point because now I have 3.
