There are upgrades at OF (maybe at 3b if you want to use D.Young there). Is the NYY pitching that strong?

My thinking was this: after adding C.C. with my first pick, I had 5 starters with ERC+ above 115. So I wasn't going to take another starter.

When I started looking at upgrading bullpen options, the best players available each round weren't any better than the options I already had. I mean, the Yankees bullpen was loaded (one of the reasons why I picked them).

So I turned my attention to hitters. My objective was simple - create as many platoon options as possible. Right now, I have a stacked lineup of ies (vs. RHP) and all righties (vs. LHP). I sought to upgrade defense/range as well, but leaned a little more toward offensive output. And when players undoubtedly struggle, I'll have other options to go to on the bench. The lack of offensive options was, I think, one of the reasons the '88 Yankees were so bad (when players struggled, I had nowhere else to turn).

We'll see how this works out.

I thought I'd done a fairly decent job with the Angels, but it's pretty alarming to see me so far back on the salary list.

abfball, I hadn't really looked at the Yankees pitching, but I see your point. Just like in real life, the rich get richer (while the other teams are trying to plug holes).
