I had a FF team and I just lost the S16 rematch by 10 points. I did not record my opponents previous game settings so I don't know if he changed anything or not. I am totally PO'd by this fiasco but I am willing to trust seble when he says there was no other way to fix the screw up.

Weena, you have every right to be po'd and their will be many others as well. Here is what I dont like, the National Tournament winner has been effected by outside sources now TWO years in a row in knight.

First their was the huge offseason, IMO it gave a few teams a HUGE advantage enough to single handily win them the NT (if you want to know who feel free to sitemail) and now this season's disaster.

Same boat...ranked #1 going into the Final Four...lose by 7 vs the slowdown...not sure if they cahnged the gameplan...total kick inn the junk...GL professor17 the rest of the way.

i know of a few coaches who lost on the do-over and they have no interest in paying for anymore seasons because of this huge muck up. not good.

Thanks jmthieme, but know that I take little pleasure in this victory. FWIW, I didn't touch the gameplan from the 1st meeting. This situation sucks all the way around. I have no idea whether or to what degree my team ratings or your team ratings were impacted in the 1st meeting (I wasn't even aware there was a problem until yesterday afternoon), but regardless, I would have preferred if the games were not rerun.

Mark me down as another coach who got screwed by the replayed games. I wasn't in the NT, so my loss wasn't as big as some others, but for a Memphis team trying to rebuild and get rolling again a PIT Final Four and possible title would have been great.

Ummm, you can count me in even though my team DID win (at least this far). IMO this is 2 years in a row now where Knight has been impacted greatly (I wont say ruined) on outside circumstances. That is one too many in my book, I can maybe let one mistake slide but when it happens back to back years, hell what are we paying for?

are you talking about the Wisconsin team that had 12 returning players? i dont know if there was a way to fix that, but that was more impactful and affected a lot more teams than this. That should have been fixed as well if possible.

No, it wasn't that. Basically, there were three "offseasons." Meaning that there was triple offseason improvement...or declines.

1st sim I win by 2. This sim I lose by 19. My guess is this debacle was affected moreso by gameplan/distro than any ratings snafu.

It was a goof up that resulted in there being no perfect solution. I may be biased - but I am not a fan of the solution where games were allowed to be re-played with new gameplans/distro's.

My D1 team won the Sweet 16 game by 28 and the Elite 8 game by 13.I had a very strong first half in both games and they were essentially over by halftime (the closest at the half was 21 points).I don’t think a good case could be made that the ratings affected the games since I lost as much or more ratings points than the teams I played. Now, I end up losing in the Sweet 16 by 12 to the team I beat by 28.My conference is out at least $40K, I lose the chance at a title (although I would have played Lostmyth next), the Prestige bump from a low A+ to a mid-to-upper A+, the Rewards Points involved and now, I could even drop below “Meeting Expectations”.I’m not saying this to complain – I’m just stating the facts.

I appreciate that they manned-up to their mistake and were trying to do the right thing but I firmly believe I made the Final Four legitimately and that was taken away.I sent the following suggestion in a ticket for cases like mine (Final Four teams that lost in the Sweet 16):

Get credit for losing in the Championship Game. This would include Rewards Points, Conference money and Prestige.I think this is an acceptable compromise (although I'd much rather have had it on my record and have a shot at the title).

What disappoints me is the fact that Seble came marching in and said this is what were gonna do even though the VAST majority wanted it done differently. He wasn't willing to listen ANY of the MANY reasons the games shouldn't be replayed thus making it MORE unfair.

EDIT:

To go along with what ledfoot was saying, the ripple effect is WIDE enough to have serious effects all over the world. Just looking at his game, that now puts a team that has virtually no chance to beat BC like Ill did the first time. That now makes the ACC even stronger and they receive even more money, meanwhile the B10 takes a 40k hit. It was just a very poor decision made by a man that had his mind made up and was TK like in his unwillingness to listen

i lost on the do-over to a team i beat handily, with the SAME ratings

i think it is time to just let my remaining seasons just die
5/28/2010 1:31 PM
wow, some guy in the ACC, (Miami i think) had already removed his seniors from the depth chart and didn't know about the re-running of the games so he played the Sweet Sixteen with his backups. That would stink.
