Is WAR a stat? Topic

I mean, you're just repeating the same question over and over while ignoring mine.

So, ask yourself this, do you really want to be the guy who argues that SLG is not used as a power measurement?

Come on. I know you're dumb, but you can't be that dumb.
I'm asking a legit question. Are bloop singles/23 ft dribblers powerful?

SLG% is calculated by dividing total bases by AB. It stands to reason players who hit homers have power. Same with doubles. I'm not too sure triples are a "power" stat. Seems like Adam Dunn and Mark McGwire didn't get a lot of those but they were "power" guys. I'm positive that 23 ft dribblers are not "powerful" nor are bloop singles. Yet they are a positive when determining SLG%. Do you disagree with any of this?

I just want to make sure we're clear, so that you can't deny it later.

You do not think SLG is used to measure a player's power.

Correct?

All I need is a yes or no and I'll happily answer any of your questions.

I have no idea how you utilize SLG%. Guys who hit homers have power. That is 4 total bases and calculates pretty well when divided by 1.

NOW, are bloop singles and 23 ft dribblers "power" hits in your world?

I'm asking about how it's commonly used.

Why are you dodging such a simple question? You jumped into this discussion.

Like, if I say next week, MikeT is so dumb that he doesn't think SLG is used to measure a hitter's power, will you say, "nah ah, I never said that?"

Or will you own it?

OK, since you won't answer if bloop singles and 23 ft dribbler indicate power, I'll ask something else.

Is .500 SLG% indicative of a power hitter?
Was Tony Gwynn a power hitter?
Did you know Gwynn slugged .500 four times and had 20 homers 0 times?

If you aren't going to answer my question, why would I answer yours?

Is it too complicated for you? Would smaller words help?

Should I ask you the same thing?

Honestly, I don't know how to make this any simpler for you. Do you think slugging percentage is used to measure a hitter's power?

Other that "slugging percentage," the longest word there is "measure." Even redneck South Carolina schools had to have educated you well enough to understand "measure."

Argue Monkey apparently does not like the question.

How does this make 10 pages?

Some people use ISO...

At this point (like always), we're so far from the point it doesn't matter anymore.
