This guy is a good example of why more pitches is better. He is about as average as they come in everything except pitches. He doesn't have a single good pitch, but he keeps getting hitters out. I have attributed this to having a well above average P5. Although he could just be getting lucky. Though that would mean that his luck has extended for 600 innings.

Does this mean that a guy like below is going to be dominant? My initial 20 million $ HS budget from last year showed that every pitch (all four) will be over 84. Splits in the high 70s or low 80s with control in the low 90s.

That guy is gonna be nuts for a DiTR.

Got another one in a separate world that should be pretty decent. Four pitches - three of them in the 70s and one of them in the 90s (20 million $ HS projection). It updates it for rookies. If you're smart, you will take a screenshot or pop it over into a spreadsheet.

Will a 60 day DL stint due to a 29 day shoulder inflammation injury result in positive growth in lost ratings (mainly VL and VR and Control)? Will he gain back those lost areas on the first recovery and add to them on the second or is he better off on the 7 until recovered and get him playing again to make sure I get another development period in? I guess that goes for any injury that is less than 60 but more than 15.

He is a starting pitcher.

I document the injuries to see if the 60 day DL will help or not. The shoulder inflammation injury in my list shows some players gaining it back and some that don't.

Do you think it has to do with budget and patience? He has 70 patience and I have a 20/20 medical/training budget

Not budget and patience, but rather budget and makeup if I understand correctly.
2/24/2019 11:18 AM
Training budget and makeup.

Pretty sure it's the medical budget and makeup. Training budget affects increase/decline in the offseason of the strength/speed ratings.

The way that I understand it, when your player gets hurt, the medical affects the extent of the injury (time - how long he's out) and the ratings loss due to the injury. Hence the medical staff sending the email when a player gets hurt.

The other way I understood it was that training, in addition to the year over year gains/losses to arm, power, durability, velocity, etc., also is used when a player returns from injury. Hence the email from the training staff regarding recovery.

I could be wrong.

Players guide reads the medical staff affects the injury recovery. Based on that, Strikeout is correct.

Saw a mention of this on a different thread so thought I would bring it here...

Why do some worlds ban the trading of cash?

What are the negatives against trading for cash in what is pretty much a salary capped game? Being able to do so adds another strategic element to the game and cash can be a huge deal in bidding for an IFA or a Free Agent

If my world banned it I wouldn't be up in arms over it but just curious why a world would pose limits on it. Full disclosure, I just did this and it started a small conversation on our message board because I traded 2 players that will be ML players for cash but probably guys that would be back end bullpen types and won't ever see my 25 Man Roster

It becomes an arms race and can lead to collusion. If we are allowed to trade cash then I spend less money on my prospect budget and more money on free agents. Now a guy comes up who is a legit All star. I write to you and say I need a favour and I'll pay you back in a couple of years. You don't see the IFA so you gladly accept either for a prospect or a favour later and some other owner ends up getting screwed out of a great player.

Gonna channel MikeT23 here... mtanton07, you yourself said in your post that it's a salary capped game. It's money management. The entire game is about what you do with your 185 million. Specific rules, such as the 50% transfer penalty, are in place to demand that you establish a plan for your 185 million and stick to it. And 80% of the "I wish" suggestions are wishes that I didn't have to play by the rules.

Long time ago, an owner went in on a big IFA early in the season. Didn't leave himself enough cash to sign the first overall pick. After finding out the pick's demand, he asked the league if someone could help him out and take a high priced player off his hands. I argued that he was asking the entire league to collude in helping him sign a player he'd screwed up on. And one of the other owners actually argued to let him do it because next season he'd get the first two picks.

Next season he got the first two picks. The player he missed out on looked like the best SP I've ever seen in a draft. The player disappeared, never showed up in the database again.
