Question: If a player has a gap year (absolute zero playing time) in the middle of his career, can we keep him for that year and just get no IP/PA then precede on or do we have to "waive" him and redraft him?

An addendum to my question. Also what about seasons that a player played but played to little to generate a WIS season (i.e. 62 Stargell)? If that happens in the middle of a career (think full season injury for a pitcher), can we keep him and just take a 'zero" for that year?

That player skips over his missing year/s and plays on his next playable season.(there is NO I.R.)
Which means you will probably have 2 players scheduled for that year - you must cut one of them.

So, if a pitcher has years (hypothetically) that generated a WIS season from 65 to72 but it "out" in 73 before playing on from 74 to 86, he immediately plays his 74 year or gets cut?

Yes, that player goes right to his next WIS season.(or gets cut)
Which means you need to pay attention to players who do that because they MAY screw up your yearly rotations.

Thankfully I asked when I did! Reuschel has two seasons and Blyleven has one season that are either 0 IP or less than 25 IP (therefore no WIS season), BUT, in each case, I had not filled out those slot years that move up. At least the way I think it works....... Thanks!

My bad - it should have read ......cut OR traded.

Sprry for the lack of updates....Been busy today...

There is no IR or reserves/aaa......if they have a WIS season, you use it. Then they progress to their next available WIS season. You due to injuries, you could end up with 2 players that would be in the same slot.

One of them needs to be cut or traded to someone who could use em.

Yes, in the off-season. You can have overlapping years, ie two player slotted in '86. But by the time the draft starts (ie when I say it's set up and ready to start) your roster must be correct.

You can not magically change one of their seasons to make em fit. They progress to the next available season.
