With 6 games to go, only 7 of my 10 teams are assured of advancing. This despite the worst of them having a .499 EXP%.
Amazingly all 10 have advanced now with one game to go. My underachievers rallied at the end. (Not 100% on this, but I don't think I have ever had a team fail to advance to R2 in a juice tournament, one of the reasons I try not to take too many teams to start with)

Alas, two of my playoff competitors sit one game back and need some help. I think I could end up with anywhere from 3-6 playoff teams.

Well, the regular season of the first round went as well as I could've hoped. Each of my 13 teams, all of which were in the American League, made the playoffs. 11 of them won their division. 7 of them led the AL in wins (actually 6 plus one tie). There was only one team selected after one of my teams in a given league that ended up with a better record than the team that I selected, and that was schwarze's 1964-83 Chicago White Sox team in League 12, which won 103 games and finished ahead of my 1960-1983 Milwaukee-Atlanta Braves team by 5 games. And "Mister Irrelevant", the final team selected in the entire tournament, the 1944-1966 Brown-Orioles in League 9, won 95 games.

Of course, all of this means that each of my teams will likely be summarily dismissed from the playoffs in short order. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to round 2, as I think it's going to be both an immense challenge and a super-fun managerial exercise.

Well done, barracuda. By my own standard of success, I did much worse.

All 10 of my teams were in the NL, and though all of them are advancing only 4 made the playoffs. Two finished 1 game back. The others were also-rans.

But my standard when choosing a team in the NL half was "Can this team win a division?" And on that score, only 6 had a good chance ultimately and only 4 succeeded. Two of them finished 4th even.

All in all, I guess I give myself a C. Basic achievement unlocked but that's about it.

things i should have done in round 1:
1. research more than "hey, these years have 2 or three guys i like using"
2. keep detailed notes on what teams i had to go fix gaps in.
3. remembered to track player rest and the usage of stud low ip/ab players rostered.

Things I should have done different. NEVER take the CUBS. They were mashers and had decent pitching but a terrible OBP, no speed, very little OF defense.....and missed by 2 games....

After 3 playoff games, my four teams are a combined 1-11. My League 22 Cubs are my last hope to get any team out of the division series.

I feel your pain. I had three teams swept already, including my 98-win team and 108-win team (big shock). I'm also 0-for-2 in 1-game playoff to get in.

My sweep vs you has been my only team advancing so far.

Ah, so that was a movable object vs. a resistible force lol

Make that 0-for-3 in 1-game playoffs.
Add two more series eliminations, including my 103-win Cardinals team (lost series 3-1).
Two 100-win teams did advance, but two others are down in the series.

Now have 8 teams with first round playoff exits... average number of wins for those 8 teams... 95.2.
