It often is.

Which WifS member is most likely to marry their cousin?
8/20/2010 12:32 PM
I'm pretty sure mudbone IS married to his cousin.
8/20/2010 12:36 PM
Is she hot, or is she fat and bearded (like Mudbone)?
8/20/2010 12:53 PM
Is it ok to marry your cousin if she is megan fox?
8/20/2010 2:26 PM
I'm pretty sure, with all the inbreeding in the mudbone family tree(which actually looks like a flagpole), she has to be fat.   However, I think the women shave so they're not mistaken for the mudbone men.

No.  But I think protected sex would probably be OK.

This isn't your first time condoning incest, is it?

Of Megan Fox, Samantha Fox, Vivica A Fox or Michael J Fox, which one is Brian P most likely to marry?
8/20/2010 2:42 PM
Publicly, yes.

It's unlikely that any of them would even **** on his head if his hair was on fire.  So, the answer is "none".
8/20/2010 2:51 PM
AH HA! Caught!

Do you not think Megan would pinch a loaf on him for kicks?
8/20/2010 2:55 PM
No.  She'd have to be in the same zip code in order to do that.   I think a restraining order prevents that.

I just picked up my 3rd HBD team.  Do you have any suggestions on how I can make this one successful since I've never won jack with the other two?
8/20/2010 4:01 PM
You could try Bizarro EasyE.   Whatever you think it right, do the opposite.  Seriously, look at your teams.   Check where the underperform compared to league averages.  Improve on those things.    A few seasons back, my MG team was missing something.  I couldn't figure out it.  We pitched well, we got on base, we hit homers, we were top fielding team.     What we didn't do was hit for average.  So I overpaid for a couple of high contact guys, got mocked for it and made the playoffs in each of their 4 seasons with me.

Well the good news is that the team is not stuck with too many long term atrocious contracts.  There are a bunch of arb guys that I don't want to pay the money they are asking.  I am trying to move them in deals before the hearings but if I can't, would it be wise to give them one year until I can bring the guys in that I want?

Also, the team literally has one ML quality pitcher, maybe 2 at most.  I am considering going after the best the free agent available just to get some credibilty (the team ERA was close to 6.00 last year).  The first year budgetery contraints leave me with more cash for payroll than needed, would this be a good approach to acquire the pitching even if I am overpaying?

If they're useful, yes.  If not, no.

I'd look into the future.  If the pitcher(s) you seek can help you when you think you can compete, pay away.  If not, bargain shop at the end of FA for 1-2 season deals with decent pitchers who will keep you in games.

Edit:  To extend my thought, set a goal for your team.  Something realistic.  If it's "improve by 10 games"(which should be the minimum goal, IMO), make move that ensure you improve by 10 games at whatever cost.  I've taken some "projects".  I always set 1, 2 and 3 season goals.   And I work towards them in season 1.
