if he is on the DL he can not be released, right? He can if he is not on the DL, right?

You can.

Yes and yes.

Both Chicago teams are 2-0 for the first time since 1951. End times?
4/6/2016 11:28 AM
I didn't realize Chicago had two MLB teams. I know about the White Sox and the minor league Cubs.
4/6/2016 11:32 AM
Oh! Ouch! Will you being getting death threats from Cub fans now?
4/6/2016 1:11 PM
I could kick all three of their ***** at the same time.
4/6/2016 1:31 PM
Would the Blue Jays win if they wore dresses?
4/6/2016 2:57 PM
How stupid is it that a pitcher can get both a hold and a loss in the same game?
4/6/2016 4:08 PM
Let's hope not.

Very.

Thoughts on the new 2b double play rule?

If a catcher in RF experiment produces an 840 OPS with 12 negative plays, is that a worthy trade off?
4/7/2016 3:18 AM
No. Three fans, one *** each. But I get your confusion as 10 share 1 brain in your family.

Meh. I find dissecting rules/umpiring/refereeing affects my enjoyment of the games. So I largely ignore them. That said, I think all sports are becoming so safety-conscious that they might be taking "competition" from their games.

It always depends on your other options. If your other option is .820 OPS and 0 negative plays, the answer is "no". I used .900+ OPS and 20+ negative plays pretty regularly as my other options were .750ish guys.
4/7/2016 7:04 AM
So on that note do you believe players should still be able to run down the catcher at home plate?
(I miss those days)
4/7/2016 7:52 AM
If the catcher chooses to block the plate, yes. It was part of the game for so long and happens so infrequently that I didn't really see a need to make a rule against it. After all, the C doesn't have to plant himself in front of the plate to make a tag. That said, I think sports are trying to take potential lawsuits out of the equation. The powers that be should add a clause to contracts that state "I am choosing to play this game and understand the dangers of potential injuries. I waive my right to sue" or something along that line.
