what about it? I have no control over that.
Never really knew how that worked...trading with teams in other leagues. How might one go about the process of working out a deal?
I've never used it, but I think B has. I'd check with him.
Trade Market
The trade market is similar to a newspaper classifieds section. You can advertise players that you are looking to sell, or buy. Other people will then browse the listings and contact you by initiating a trade. The lisiting is free.
Each team gets 1 listing unless they have a
premium entitlement which allows up to 16 listings. Listings can be edited or deleted at anytime. The oldest listings are shown first. Each listing is only shown for 1 month before it expires and is removed from the trade market. You can then relist if you wish.
Adding a listing
1. To add your free listing click on the "add listing" link located at the bottom of the "Trade Market" table.
2. Choose the type of trade you would like to make.
Buy means you are looking to purchase a player as described by the position and comment.
Sell means you are looking to dump or sell a player as described by the position and comment.
Trade means you are looking to trade a player for another player (goalie/coach). Please be specific in the comment what you are looking for.
3. Choose the type of player (goalie/or coach) you want to purchase, sell, or trade. The options are Forward (offensive, SC1 and SC2 players), Defenseman (defensive players), Starting Goalie (very skilled goalie), Backup Goalie (less skilled or younger goalie), and coach (self explainable).
4. Now comes the most important part of the listing if you want to get a response. Here you will describe specifically what you want. Including details such as the skills of the player you want to sell or how much money you want to receive. You can link directly to a player/goalie/or coach by using BBCode.
Browsing listings
To browse through listings first choose what you are looking for from the select input forms. After you have chosen the league specifics, type, and position click on the "->". The results will now match the specifics. There are up 25 listings per page. The listings that are oldest are shown first.
Transfer Tax
Transfer Tax is a non-refundable, mandatory tax that is issued on transfers of player, goalies, or coachs from one league to another. The players union has forced this upon its members to balance out the leagues and their talents. The cost is 25% to transfer between leagues and an additional 75% to transfer from between tiers. If you are trading within your own league their is no tax.
The tax is based on one years salary of the player, goalies, or coaches salary who is being transferred. The team that is "purchasing" the player has to pay the tax. For example if TEAM A from League #1 (Tier 2) purchased Human Wanna Be (40) (Salary: $500,000) for $5,000,000.00 from TEAM B in League #2 (Tier 2). TEAM A would have to pay TEAM B $5,000,000.00 plus $125,000 (25% of $500,000) to the union for the transfer of player: Human Wanna Be (40). TEAM B will only receive $5,000,000.00 because the 25% tax is paid to the union.
