Nah, none of this makes me mad. Alfred E. worries more than I do. In time all of this works itself out. Chicken Little can go to the beach. The sky won't be falling anytime soon...

This budget proposal is an eye opening philosophical change to anything we have seen. It completely reprioritises how and where the government spends our money. EPA gets a 31% cut. State Dept 28%. Military spending up 10%. He is slashing a ton of mostly dead weight. Some programs will surely be spared, but wow...

Who hasn't complained at one time that Washington is broken, or that our money is being wasted. Even if you oppose certain programs being slashed or eliminated, this putting DC on a diet should be a positive thing. If nothing else, it sets quite a precedent.

Yeah, EPA gets a big cut. Remember that both sides of the aisle want and demand clean air and clean water...

I like Bert and Ernie. But if they dont need our help, why not use that money elsewhere?

What do businesses do when faced with budget constraints? They find better ways to spend their money. They make sacrifices. Some of these programs date back to FDR. Some are completely inadequate, or don't provide anything close to what they should. What do you do when years of spending more than you make catches up with you? You trim the fat. You rearrange your priorities. Do i buy the $200 Nike shoes, or do i pay a bill? $20 TRILLION in debt. With higher interest rates we can't even pay the INTEREST on what we've borrowed. Donald is cutting up the charge cards.

It won't be a perfect scenario, but a good first step, and long overdue. For years we have kicked the can.

Look, I am not sold on this guy, but I agree that major changes were needed. He will screw some stuff up. They all do. Maybe his legacy is that he was severely flawed, but knocked some sense into us, and put us on a path to having a government that holds itself accountable to its people...down the road, when our politicians return to reckless spending, both sides of the aisle stand up and object. Then again, history has a way of repeating itself...

Big Bird isn't getting scrapped. They have plenty of revenue to keep the lights on...when an entity fails, or is flailing, someone steps up and buys it, or funds it. If not, it probably wasn't worth saving anyway. Nothing is too big to fail. If GM hadn't been given a life preserver, someone or some group would have bought it and done what was necessary for it to survive...

As for foreign aid, we as a country will remain generous. Charity came along long before the US government got into the charity business. I guarantee you that the Red Cross is a better run organization than FEMA. Individuals, business small and large, and private organizations will pick up the slack. And rightfully so.

If that painter guy that comes on at 130pm on Saturdays on PBS that puts me to sleep can't cut it without my tax dollars, either he improves his show, asks for donations, or folds his tent. Someone else aires a better show, or Marge goes to the Y to take a class to improve her painting waterfalls technique. Life will go on...

This Old House is a favorite show of mine. They'll survive...so will Charlie Rose...why should I fund him? O'Reilly doesn't get tax dollars...

This just in...Nancy Pelosi (Pelosi Galore, a James Bond character), is still batshit crazy...

And what's up with Rand Paul and John McCain? Polar opposites on military role and spending, but seriously?

Senator Paul said that McCain is past his prime. Perhaps he needs one of these...

BTW. That painter guy has been dead for years. Doubt his program costs us taxpayers much money! Besides, he was an inspiration to many aspiring painters! Including George W.!

Uh, his budget isn't lowering the national debt. All his "cutting the fat" moves are going to pay for military increase and his wall.

Seriously, cutting the 3 million bucks that goes to the Meals on Wheels programming? Not even a grain of sand in the desert.

It will be interesting to see what happens if his proposed tax cuts come into play. Toto, hopefully we don't end up in Kansas.
