Player A has fielding ratings of 93/84/95/86 and has 21 plus plays and 0 minus plays plus 29 errors in 1191 innings.
Player B has fielding ratings of 89/87/92/93 and has 25 plus plays and 1 minus play plus 7 errors in 1146.1 innings

I don't see how the small differences in ratings accounts for 22 additional errors. Am I missing something?

Glove(3) and Arm Accuracy(7) drive errors. Range/Arm Strength driver +/-. There is some randomness, you should check career numbers for a better reading, but it's not completely off with the 3/7 differences. And, FWIW, chances could be playing a factor also. Check that also.

Okay. Player A has played almost twice as many innings as player B(I only used ML stats). If you prorate B stats out to the same number of innings, this is what you'd get:

POs and assists are almost exactly the same. Does that 3 glove and 7 arm accuracy difference really explain 45 more errors? Does the -4 range and -3 arm strength really explain the 13 more plus plays for player A?

Assuming we're talking about Telemaco and Nichols, your prorated numbers are wrong.

It's not outrageous but not that much out of line either. I'd expect the gap to close over time but 3G and 7AA at SS are pretty big differences.
