Obama: Worst President Ever? Topic

If you on the left are asking what Obama should do look at Reagan.

He took office with a higher unemployment rate and out of cotrol inflation and he turned it into a record peace time expasnsion. And the Dems controlled the house the whole time!

We don't have out of control inflation now. The driving forces behind the two recessions are different. A little more inflation would actually help employment today.

Out of cotrol inflation would make everything worse.

Point was Reagan made it happen and Obama cannot.

We don't have (or want) out of control inflation.  But a little inflation would help employment numbers (small increases in inflation lift demand when there is a bunch of money sitting still).

Families on a budget may disagree.

Disagree with what?

With inflation being a perk.

Why? If the economy improves it is likely that those families on a budget have more money to work with, even after inflation.

The stuff they want/need to buy will be more expensive.  That's what inflation is.

For ****'s sake.  Is the resident village idiot arguing that inflation would be a good thing?

It appears that way.

Do you have a compelling legal reason why it wouldn't be a good thing?

Poor people would ransack cities in order to find something to eat.    Which is an obvious violation of the law.

Under the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment, poor people should have the right to food as do rich people.  Your argument is DENIED.

How can you deny an argument, just because you make $hit up?
The 14th amendment states no such thing, under the equal protection clause.
You simply say it "should", but it does not.
MikeT23's argument is valid, AND based on history, I might add.

You should actually READ the US Constitution, as well as books about the founding fathers.

Everyone has the right to food, clothing (etc.).....if you WORK FOR IT.  No one ever said it would be easy.  One of the greatest things about this Country is that, you can have anything you want, if you're willing to work hard, and give it your all.
No one "owes" you anything!  You have the right to work, but no one "owes" you a job.
It's a beautiful thing that we, as a people, have such sympathy & compassion for our fellow citizens.  We would like to see everyone happy and successful.  That's great!
Allowing those feelings to bleed into a sense of entitlement is NOT, what our Constitution, or this Country is about.

The economy would be stronger, even after an increase in inflation.
