I'd like to think we live in a Country where people are responsible enough to handle the task of gun ownership. Unfortunately, almost every day there is an incident or accident somewhere in this Country that proves we, as a Society, are not. Therefore, I believe if any gun small enough to conceal is made illegal, there would be a lot less of those incidents and accidents, as well as none of the aftermath that usually follows. Hunters would still get to do their thing and home owners who say they need a gun for protection could still have one.

The purpose of gun control IMO should be to get the guns out of the hands of those who will misuse them and get them in the hands of those who will use them well.

So concealed carry should be gone, longer waiting periods, background checks, I wouldn't be opposed to gun safety tests...

and assault weapon ban and plastic guns.

BTW, strikeout, as a small govn't conservative, you had better be calling your representatives and telling them to oppose the national emergency declaration.

Well, I'd like it if there were no guns in a private citizen's hands, but we all know that will never happen. The problem with laws for gun control is that its not the law abiding citizens that cause most of the problems. Its the criminals, and they aren't going to give a **** about laws. They're criminals! If they cared about the laws they wouldn't be criminals.
I do think there is absolutely no reason that a non military or police person has to have an automatic or even a semi automatic weapon, and those should be illegal. I have no real issues with someone who has a handgun for protection or a rifle for hunting, as long as people who get those sort of guns get proper training is the use and maintenance of them.

i think the american public has finally turned the corner and sanity has finally started to settle in.
now it is in the hands of the GOP senators.
