My 2 cents is that Dems can say it isn't in freefall, but the mandates, as well as the basic structure just aren't gonna survive. You can't fix it. It needs to be replaced. The Repubs know they have to keep pre existing conditions and keeping 26 and under kids on parents plans, as well as get the rules written to create competition in the market. That way you have lower costs, and more choices. It is complicated, and there are still different views how to best address this. But Trump needs this done, and citizens want Congress to put out a good product. They don't care what you call it. They don't care who takes credit for it. Premiums are going up, choices have narrowed, and some are finding it is too expensive to use. Medicare/ Medicaid will need fixing too. But you have to get one thing done at a time. The other phases of this will streamline the legislation. Personally I think they are on the right path. The status quo really isn't very good.
