Just because someone hasn't made a better offer doesn't mean they have no other offers.

And you gave up your 18th pick to sign a 32 year old hitter to a 4 year contract?

Well, yeah - though if he went and signed Roosevelt now I'd still get it, I believe.

But Fitzgerald is going to start to die pretty quickly with Bret's training budget.

nothing like waking up and seeing Orber Flynn go down for 160+ games in HR.... then rejecting, countering, and accepting a trade in $..... all before my morning coffee.
Your  medical and training are 14 and 10 and he has a health rating in the 40's.  You were lucky it didn't happen last year as well.

It's a gamble.... we all know injuries happen to anyone even high health players and $20 mil training budgets. I have to sacrifice somewhere to afford a $123 mil payroll. It's unfortunate but the SOPs will be ok. He will be back for the playoffs.

Any thoughts on the gonzales trade?

I don't know man...  who is going to play CF for your team that is "going to repeat" this year?

I am not too big on that bat and RP's are overrated.

I'm working on that now by unloading Morrie. I still need a SP3.

Damian Chang may fill the CF void for a while too.... until I see what shakes out in FA.

I could unload Morrie to a contender down the line as well if teams aren't that desperate for a closer right now. By that point Morrie could be on his way to another Cy Young which would increase his value imo... or he could be injured knowing my luck.

again.  I didn't think I was going to get him after one cycle...I would've thought someone else would offer him something.

It's not luck, it is budgeting...

Not sure you many people are willing to unload a star position player for an RP, no matter how good he is.

Good luck with that.

I haven't looked enough at the FA's to know if there is anyone out there to fill that void.

I'd play Jackson at CF, Chang at 2B and Aaron at 3B before I would play Chang at CF.
