If you had a really good prospect in HiA that you were moving along one level per year (19 yrs old), would you consider moving him onto your BL roster for playoff run and playoffs if he would be your best pinch hitter and then demote him to AA after the season is over?

I would. I have. No downside other than burning an option. But most of my BL players have options left. Once I call legit BL players up, they usually stay.

Sorry to pile on but I just got a message stating bc HiA player was not on 40 man before roster expansion occurred, he's ineligible for the playoffs. That is unfortunate as it was the only reason I promoted him. Live and learn I guess.

You can demote any time during the playoffs but definitely wait a cycle after regular season ends. I usually do it the next day to be safe.

Yes, only players on the 40 at roster expansion can be on your playoff roster. It's a common mistake. Users will trade for an expiring contract after RE thinking they can use them in the playoffs. They can't.
