look a couple posts up - seble's ability to estimate time tables is notoriously limited

Everything's ready to go, just trying to find a good time to release.

How do you determine when a release should be released? Just curious don't need an answer if you feel it isn't warrented.

It depends on the release. Sometimes it can be released whenever it's ready, but for something involved (like replacing all current players with a new copy) I try to make sure I'm going to have time handle all the necessary changes and time to monitor it properly afterward without having other pressing tasks to worry about.

Ah makes sense.

So if we're in a league that's not filled and not started before the release, the changes will be affecting our players right?

Also, the changes involve the players O range and D ratings so won't be affecting the salaries right?

Oh, and one more thing, players will have a stop % stat ? If so does that mean the def ratings will be gone?

Anything else?

are any players position effectiveness changed in the upcoming (like 88-89 MJ 100% at point guard, which was the position he actually played that season)?

Similar to last time, teams in unscheduled leagues will be sent back to the draft center and then updated to the new version of players.

Changes will include the offensive range stuff and defense, but we've improved the accuracy of several different numbers (e.g. reb%, usage%) so salaries have changed.

There will not be a Stop% stat after all. The plan was to introduce that because it's on the same scale across all positions. The defensive ratings are currently distributed by position, so a 90 PG doesn't have the same defensive effect as a 90 C. After this release, defensive ratings will be on the same scale across all positions, so there won't be a need for Stop%.

No position effectiveness ratings will be changing in this release.

At this point, I'm all for a new release as my teams have fallen off the map! I did a 15 ft of Bol team in an exhibition league to feel better and am getting my shell handed to me.

Well, the last part is certainly disappointing but I look forward to the other changes.

Would it be unreasonable to expect them within the coming week?

Possibly this week. Expect a notice tomorrow or Tuesday.

What kind of salary variance should we expect?

Interesting, can't wait to see those new defensive numbers.

I'm desperatly hoping the O range perimeter galore nonsense will be fixed...

I didn't expect a salary change though, means I wasted my time in the draft center since my next league won't get started before that release, oh well, back to the, hopefully, new n improved drawing board.

Man it must have so hard to find the time during those last 4-6 weeks to make MJ 100% at PG for 1 season...............
8/25/2008 8:27 AM
Salaries should be in the same range overall, but some players will go up or down within that range.
