for what it's worth, i think 42 mil is perfect. draft strategy changes a bunch.  the guys at the top of the draft order have a distinct problem now. go for the top players still, perhaps with a lesser version, or rethink your your whole plan. a lot of us are used to playing in the 20 mil dollar leagues. so, there are always plenty of minutes around.

this league has always been 42 million, through many engine changes, good and bad. i like the higher salaries now. this will be interesting and fun.

It would be easier to convince me to change rookies (allowing them) than it would be to raise the cap.  This league is thee league in this sim and it represents difficulty.... and the cap gives us just that.  I am not very interested in allowing rookies either... but I'd like to nip this in the bud and end the discussion.

Next season we can visit the issue pending what we see this season.  I hope this is acceptable.

Now lets all look for coachcroft!

I think we should play at least this one at the 42 mil cap and see what happens - if it doesn't work out too well we can bump to 45 or 47 mil. Team building was getting slightly stale w/ the old salaries, so I'm glad to have more of a challenge - it may prove that 42 mil is too much of a challenge, but we should find that out through experimentation

For me, it's not that it can't be done at 42 mil...there's plenty of players to make it work...it's just that it sucks to have to draft those ****** players who I have no interest in when there's all these greats out there I wish I could be using

That's the bottom line for me.  I'm all for a shakeup in salary structure and in the engine itself, and definitely want to be able to use a different/broader set of players.  The frustration with this iteration of salaries is that the "what if" premise doesn't hold much fascination for me on a consistent basis if I can't afford to use players that interest me.  If this just becomes a mathematical challenge of figuring out which assets to use under the new circumstances, it appeals a lot less to the sports fan in me that came to this site in the first place.  I've gone through several attempts at building a 12-person team and the results are fairly disgusting, taking into account the reality that we'll be using unique players.

Anyway, I'm good with tarheel's rationale above.  Let's do it once and see what there is to see.

Most NBA teams feel the same way.  I do not want to chase owners away but the kfunk/ncih draft league gives you this option.  Here it is one of the main reasons the league is difficult.  We'll see what the season brings and go from there.
