I dont mind the unseld pick he could have overcome that issue nicely with an average rebounding higher volume higher efficiency big - he's only getting 28 creb from Baylor, surely there are still a handful of 30+ creb PF/Cs who have mid 20s usage and shoot better than 50% - hell a few of them might even play D - I have one in mind who would have started off the day right

Oh yeah.  Unseld was a great pick.  It was not drafting someone like (haven't checked to see if he's been drafted yet so I can't say his name) instead of Baylor that was my issue (and will be the Sim's).

Nope he's not been drafted... and neither has another really, really solid 4/5 man.  If you've got good backcourt boards (and possibly a dominant SF), there are two beautiful picks to be had in round 6, one of which I don't think I've ever seen fall below round 3 (usually 2).  Wow.

theres one guy still out there that would have been perfect to play between rodman and unseld.....probably the same guy your thinking of ash
5/10/2011 7:25 PM
i was shocked barros was still there for my 5th rounder...the guy is a efg% beast who gives you dimes and will surprise you with the ftas

im really liking my team on offense right now...magic is gonna have them scoring at will...i took a hit on the boards by moving magic to sg but can easily grab some LMBLs in the 6/7th to help make up for that

sappy - Moses Malone, Gary Payton, Ray Allen, Lamar Odom, Red Robbins

Robbins was exactly the type of player needed here.  I'm not sure you couldn't have done better by making a platoon, BUT, you will be the next to last draft pick in the final round, so I applaud taking a solid minute guy instead of the platoon route.

tricky24 - Charles Barkley, Robert Parish, Reggie MIller, Danny Granger, Mark Jackson

Jackson was one of the ideal point guards for this squad... he'll make Chuck, Reggie and Granger all better.  Still going to be board lite.

robocoach - Dennis Rodman, Wes Unseld, Steve Nash, Elgin Baylor, Walt Frazier

Instead of a rebounding big man, you went with a guard, moving Baylor to the front court.  That's not good... but at least Frazier will take shots away from Baylor, which is.

ncih -  LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Terry Porter, Gerald Wallace, Harry Gallatin

Gallatin is a nice fit.  This is a solid squad that's going to win a lot, but I still think you went into redundant world when you picked Wallace.

banditone - Kevin Durant, Jerry Lucas, Clyde Drexler, Roy Tarpley, Kevin Porter

You drafted somebody to get the ball to Durantula & the Glide.  Still going to be board lite, but this is a pretty solid squad anyway.

jakotay - Wilt Chamberlain, Buck Williams, Kevin Johnson, Richard Jefferson, A.C. Green

There were much better board options at the 3 than Green.  He doesn't hurt the team at all, I just think you took yourself from potential division winner to wild card in playoffs category.

dh555 - Magic Johnson, Kevin Love, Donyell Marshall, Bob Lanier, Dana Barros

I like and dislike the Barros pick.  There's a lot to like about him... but at the same time, by drafting him, you're calling Magic a SG.  Now your nice board advantage is gone.  You really needed someone closer to 20% creb% here... but threes get you wins when you shouldn't get them.  Still a strong, strong team.

badja - Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Scottie Pippen, Penny Hardaway, Larry Smith, Dan Gadzuric

Gadz was the perfect pick here.  I'm liking this squad a lot more after it.

malone9975 - Artis Gilmore, Hakeem Olajuwon, Andrei Kirilenko, Darrell Walker, Leandro Barbosa

YES!  Barbosa was a fantastic pick here.  He wasn't the guy I had in mind for your team, but he's definitely a great grab.  3rd tier usage with 56% efg% and as many threes as he gives you... yeah.  Good stuff.  You're going to win some games, now!

felonius - Jason Kidd, Mel Daniels, Elton Brand, Willis Reed, Vince Carter

You're right.  I love the VC pick.  But not as much as someone else out there that I still can't believe hasn't been drafted.  Still, you really did need Carter's usage.  There are 3 different versions I'd consider using with this squad, and all of them will work for various reasons.  Kidd/Carter back court gives you lots of boards, threes, and assists.  Still best team going into this part of the draft.

why turn Lebron into an SF?

Kevin porter is a train wreck

why turn chuck into a PF?

sappy is looking good

badja - Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Scottie Pippen, Penny Hardaway, Larry Smith, Dan Gadzuric
Gadz was the perfect pick here.  I'm liking this squad a lot more after it.

I decided to challenge myself with the Kareem pick and I'm not crazy about it.  He is not the total package that a 1st rounder should be.  Much like Pip, he has no "perfect season" to use.  I'll be fine on rebs  and scoring.  My big concern at this point is lack of  defense and I'm not sure I can fix that at this point.

5/10/2011 9:00 PM

Lets look at the amount of time between picks.  If you missed a pick I count time against you as soon as you could have made your pick.  Some people had long times because of typical sleeping hours, and then there is the inexcusable...6 picks almost two days from pick 22 in round 1 to pick 3 in round 2.

Big thanks to robocoach, banditone, and xxevilivexx for being the considerate MVP's of this league...you are allowed in my lifeboat.  ljemd and bsumke are allowed in my lifeboat too, but they will likely miss the boat leaving the dock.

Oh yeah, I forgot.  If you didn't like me before this I just turned into to biggest ******* in the world.  If this makes you mad though it is because you are either the actual biggest *******, or you are vapid.

Let this be an encouragement to be better!

I like Sleepy, but I'm not sure his usage is something you want when you already have 3 tier 3 usage guys on your squad.  You needed assists or I would have said you should have gone more of a low-usage bomber route. Still works, though.

all3 - Shaquille O'Neal, Bill Walton, Mike Miller, Clifford Ray, Mark Price

Yes.  Perfect guy with who is left for what you're doing.  I anxiously await your SF pick.

jcred5 - Larry Bird, Paul Pierce, Shawn Kemp, Charles Oakley, Jayson Williams

Nice.  I always have to applaud someone who takes a back-up in an earlier round and waits to finish their starters till round 6.  It seems like more owners are catching on to this here lately.  The only concern I had before becomes even more apparent now... FOULS!  You're going to have a lot of them.

eleibowitz - Dwight Howard, Manu Ginobili, Deron Williams, Emeka Okafor, J.R. Smith

J.R. is a great player in the sim, but you SOOO missed on the guy you should have taken here.  In fact, I'm going to have to start handing out Fs to everyone who passes up on this guy.  He should have been a third rounder for what he brings... high efg%, lot of threes, high creb% for a guard, low tov%... seriously, how has he not been picked?  I already fussed at DH for it as it would have been the PERFECT guy on his squad!  But J.R. works here.  Just disappointed that you went there instead of the other.  I really do dig that backcourt rotation.

5/11/2011 5:47 AM
As per usual, I won't be doing round 6... though I'll probably be handing out 3 gold stars for 3 incredible players still sitting out there just screaming to be drafted.
5/11/2011 5:47 AM
Needed J.R. and didn't think he would be around next time I picked.  I had another guy in mind (and maybe the one your thinking about) but I needed J.R. assits and the flexibilty the assits gave me.  Otherwise I could of been only looking at one or two players who very well could be taken prior to my next picks.  So this was more of a need pick, than best player. Maybe a mistake but we will see...
5/11/2011 6:11 AM
always happy to use my secret weapon, dunn. helps me fix my weak offensive rebounding to some extent.

I almost went another direction with this pick, and it might bite me if one of the two guys I have my eye on gets taken. but dunn was the perfect fit for my starting lineup, decided to go ahead and get him.
