So, you think cutting the military budget in half would only cost 10 jobs?
That was hyperbole obviously. I said it because CCCP refuses to say how many jobs he thinks we would lose, despite saying that it would kill our economy.
There are roughly 4M people employed by the military including private contractors. For simplicity's sake, let's assume that if you cut the budget in half, you lose half of those people. You don't think 2M people losing their job would cripple the country?
Do those 4M include soldiers or people employed in that area? The only people that would lose their jobs would be private contractors and I'm sure we could find a way to make less than half lose their jobs?
About 3M of them are soldiers.
Right, so we are probably looking at, at absolute maximum, 250,000 jobs lost. I doubt it would be that high.

I'm just not buying that we can cover $3.3 Tr/year.

I think the number is $3.2. We pay $3.3, as a whole, for heath coverage now.

Either way, it's impractical to think that it can be covered through taxation.

Why? Canada, Australia, almost all of Europe, and the largest countries in South America do it. I think America is just as capable as those countries.

What did Trump say about it?
I already answered this question. I am not going down that path again. He criticized the DNC. Do you have amnesia.

AOC is pro Palestine too. The new face of your party.

pass
You can be pro Palestine and pro Israel.
Not in my opinion. That is like being pro Confederate and pro Union. You need to pick a side.
You can be pro Confederate and pro Union if you said that both could coexist?

Also you ignored this question from a while back: If Israel were to take over Palestine, where would you want those Palestinians to go?
Any of the 50+ other Islamist countries.

Idiot what about the private sector and all those jobs?

If every tax payer in America paid $1100 more per month in taxes, which we both can agree is unrealistic, you would only add $1.6 Tr in Revenue.

Im still not seeing how it's affordable.

Population is much higher here than in all those countries

So, cutting the budget in 1/2 only results in a 1/16 decrease in jobs. Please stop and think about what you're saying for a second.

It was just an example. It wasn’t the actual number.

Population size aside, the math isn't working for me.

So? Brazil does it with a 200M+ population and significantly more poverty.

Welcome to Keynesian economics. Happy to have you.
Obviously there is merit to Keynes theory, but I am far from a Keynesianist.
Agreed about Keynes. I much prefer Hayek.

Yes, but your number is fairly accurate if it is indeed going to be cheaper than what it is costing now.

Tang, you are also an advocate for socialized healthcare. Maybe you can show me how it is affordable.
