Ironically, I'm going to finish 4th (by one point), though my team that missed out on the playoffs (140M draft team) won 85 (not 88) games but finished with the 6th best record!

The difference between 2nd and 6th place was only 6 points this year

I think bonus points should be awarded to playoff teams. Variance in record can be attributed to difficulty of opponents as well as a to a particular strategy to focus your resources on winning your division and not caring about the other great teams in other divisions. A lot of owners dictate their rest schedule based on making sure they have best resources against division rivals. Overall record should be secondary to winning your division. Same reason we don't award points based on pythag. Give the playoff teams bonuses.
