The spirit of the bounties is to test the statistical limits while remaining competitive, but I am finding that it's a good exercise in simply testing effective strategies that I otherwise wouldn't have employed. I normally build teams around power with one stud SP and lights-out bullpen, with little interest in speed or defense, as long as they don't detract from my team. I always found SBs and Range to be far more expensive than other varialbes. However, my "+" play team is really showing how a strong D can improve bad pitching (my team ERC# is at least a full run higher than usual), and how slap hitters can succeed in Hilltop. I'm not surprised by either of these outcomes, but it's a complete 180 from what I normally do. This may change my calculus in building teams in the future, so on top of being fun, it's made me a better player.
and for an update we're 32-18 through 50 games, with 23 + plays from Snuffy...
