i will not vote for Hootie because of these inproprieties.

Grieve was the glitch that allowed gin to win every game. He played nearly every game and was so dominant that anyone could be credited with a win just for following him in a tandem. Then when he wasn't starting, he would close. Nobody would calll tandems a glitch if not for Grieve.

Grieve in season 8 was probably the best we'll ever see.

Anyone doubting him should see his career playoff stats. Unreal.

I'll swap out baez for grieve if I can secure a Hootie first ballot vote

Strong across the board...  but playoff WHIP is what does it for me.
Yeah, the postseason dominance is compelling.

I hate glitches, and even I think it's stupid to use glitchiness as a reason to not vote Grieve.

Then what is your reasoning to justify C-Berg over Grieve?

I just went down the line and found the top 5 guys. Looked deeper at some.  I initially breezed by Grieve since nothing jumps out at you on his player card. I can see the arguments for him, but I cant put him ahead of

1.Morton 3400 hits/.336 avg/466 sb
2. Day3136 hits/.328 average/321 hr/359 sb
3. Pride 600 HR
4. Yoshii .337/438 HR
5. Franco 205 wins - 3 Cy Youngs.

robusk Obstreperous Minorities 11/2/2010 6:38 PM This is ****ing ridiculous. How are all these people not voting for Grieve?????

So we all are retarded for not going to the playoff WHIP in deciding our HOF votes. Did you check playoff stats of all candidates?

I don't understand the premise of your question, Dreek, but both CBerg and Grieve are on my current ballot.  I bumped Pride.

whip whip whip, mostly.

Then look at Romero's whip and explain how grieve can be ahead of him.

You initially werent voting for Grieve. If not for glitchiness, I was wondering why, then. Burgeron was the one I felt least deserving.

Why is pride on there?

The aforementioned post-season dominance, combined with the fact that in this instance, I think bot's right (at least what I inferred from his comment) that the glitchiness surrounding Grieve actually makes him more dominant due to how many games he affected.  Also, I like to see traditional starters topping 200 IP a season, and Romero fell short there (nitpicky, but we have to be at this point).

Romero should absolutely get in, we're just past the point where absolute "should" necessarily means first ballot.

Tm - I'll vote c-berg or Nakamura instead of Franco for a future first ballot Hootie vote.

I've been open about the fact that I'm only voting CBerg because he was my guy.

Regardless, the glitchiness would be irrelevant.  Glitchiness didn't lead to any misleadingly dominant stats for Grieve.
