Thomas was terrible last night. I guess that is what you get with a talented guy with no skills whatsoever.

Well I'll say this much, it's take a team effort to lose consistantly and even though Thomas may not be an all-star, sort of I guess considering he was..., but most nights he plays decent enough for this team to steal some wins. I really do think this team could turn the corner with about another years worth of good GM decisions.

I didn't say win, I just said turn the corner!
Look at what Davidson and Pleau did in St. Louis in just 1 year. In one more year I expect them to make the playoffs and hopefully start contending for the central division title a little more.

Now THAT was a nice win. Down 2-0, on the road and struggling, they come out and outshoot Buffalo 17-1 and score twice in the 3rd to tie it up. The returning Glen Murray was active, got shots, and was a great screen on Chara's huge slapper for the 1st goal. Metropolit/Kobasew/Lucic line had another great night. And Savard creating the break for Sturm to use his speed and beat Miller (Who stood on his head all night).

Bruins battle through OT and get it to the shootout.

Where Alex Auld stops all 3 Buffalo shooters, while Phil "I Live For Shootouts" Kessel, the closer, scores on his attempt despite it slipping off his stick.

3-2 Win they needed after tanking at home.

Still in 8th place obviously, but they need to keep this up vs. the teams they're ahead of.

I will refrain from commenting on tonight's game.

I won't. Big win for the Canes, they needed it. Pretty much dominated the whole game. By the way, with the Bruins loss and the Sabres win, the Bruins fall to 9th in the conference. Half way through the month and they are on the outside looking in, a long way from 5th.

Well that's the Bruins. Losing games they "should" win.

Winning one I didn't think they had a shot at the way they were playing.

More contributions from lesser players, including Reich's great play to Sobotka for his 1st NHL goal. Defense really stepped up, helping Thomas regain his form of a few games back somewhat.

Long way from 5th yes. But 2 losses isn't a reason to panic on my part. They just need to keep playing hard, get Murray back his scoring touch (good to see him back finally), and still make a damn move before the deadline.

Chiarelli's done a pretty solid job on the "little" trades. Need to snag another young player with scoring touch or some upside ala last year's Bochenski and Kobasew acquisitions. And standing pat with Auld when there have to be other options out there seems pretty shortsighted. He's had good games, but come on. Some team has to have a kid pushing out a solid vet backup. Hell I wouldn't mind Tuuka getting a start as well.

Chuck Kobasew missed Wednesday's game with a back injury.
Fortunately, the Bruins co-leader in goals will not be out long. "If it were a playoff game, maybe we'd have gotten him in there." coach Claude Julien said. Kobasew may be back by the weekend.

Andrew Alberts has been re-diagnosed with a neck injury that is causing headaches.
Alberts has been sidelined since mid-December with a concussion. It was thought that the headaches were the last vestige of post-concussion syndrome, but they were actually due to an injured neck, which was likely due to the whiplash suffered at the same time. He is receiving intensive physical therapy and shouldn't be out much longer.

Aaron Ward stayed overnight in the hospital with a throat injury.
The defenseman was cross-checked in the throat by Pittsburgh's Sergei Gonchar. He was coughing up blood and struggling to breathe. However, he walked himself to the ambulance and the stay-over was mostly precautionary. He should be fine, but may be out for a few games.

its time to decide with the trade deadline coming up if they are going to be sellers or buyers .

Seller of Thomas, hopefully. He stunk again last night.

Yeah, Timmay needs to go. But that was one hell of a comeback last night. I changed the channel with 10 minutes to go when it was 4-2. I flipped back a little later to see what the final was and was shocked that the game was in OT.

Wideman is also horrible at playing defense. He almost makes me miss Hal Gill.

I never miss Hal Gill.
