hopefully this works from the other computer

Personally, I don't look at the projected, only the current and do my own estimate forward.

As pointed out the same money transfer could be accomplished by the owner needing cash trading away a player with a higher salary - but most owners won't take such a player if he is on the down side of his career or the "selling" owner needs the player and doesn't want to let him go. Or the trade may look so lopsided it gets vetoed. So the easy way out is to sell a prospect - who may or may not be valuable depending on how he progesses and how well the "purchaser or seller" knows the game. These types of trades have too much potential for abuse and the "ton of long term owners" could have a vested interest in perpetuating that abuse and fail to veto.

I would probably of vetoed the other 2 trades, but only briefly looked at the trades. Was rushing.

I went to the gym. You basically gave me a generic opinion. You are entitled to that opinion and you have the right to veto any trade you wish. . Anyone (Anyone at all) explain to me the difference between these two trades

1- RP making 750k and you add 5 million in cash for a prospect.

2-The same exact RP making 5.75 million for a prospect.

Are you saying you would veto both trades? Most people would more than likely consider the 2nd trade acceptable while trade 1 would be questioned. Both trades have the same result.
Actually both trades don't have the same result. In the one that you think is ok, where a player is sold, one franchis then has a 180 million dollar payroll, and then the other team has a 190 million dollar payroll. In the case of the reliever being traded, payrolls stay the same.

Go ahead and say, "No, no no. They are the same thing." You can do it. You'll be dead wrong, but if that doesn't bother you, then go ahead. I don't really care...

come on mike, just admit you're too much of a softie to sabotage an entire world.

You added to your question after I responded. What sort of bush move is that? My response was direct and sufficient. I even gave you an example in one of my worlds.

Nonetheless, I will give you credit for one thing. You have the ability to bore me out of a thread. Congrats.

A trade like that was vetoed in HJack. Because it's stupid.

Seriously? It is absolutely a good move for one owner. And a brutally stupid move for the other guy.

Please, please, think before you respond again.

No your just too blind to admit it... Trading a 33 y/o with 60/60 splits and maybe a 72 overall who is making 5.4 million to a team for a 19 y/o with PROJECTED 60/60 splits and a PROJECTED 72 is something that happens all the time. The team taking on the 33 y/o is looking for pitching help NOW to contend, and the team taking on the 19 year old is cutting salary and getting a player for the future... Just because you think this is stupid doesnt make it stupid, so please think before you post because you make yourself look stupid.

If trades like this didnt happen then the baseball trading deadline would be boring. Do you even have a clue about trades that happen in real life? This is not brutally stupid, and because you are on an ego trip you push people out who make trades like this.

Don't change the scenario.

Equal players. One makes 5m. One makes 327k.

Seriously, alias, think it out.
6/14/2009 9:54 AM
Damn. That was astonishingly easy to figure out.

Why does jferg send you training camp pitchers for legit players? And why do you accept?

I might not of made it obvious but when I meant equal prospect I meant the prospects projected overall was equal to the current overall of the veteran. I would never suggest that 2 players in current talent with 1 making 5 million and the other making 375k would be a equal trade.

I thought it was pretty obvious plague, apperantly not everyone can understand things here :)

Mike- I admit I had some bad trades, but I was learning how to play this game... before I realized that overall rating meant next to nothing for pitchers I got duped on a couple trades...
