Colonels, you're digging yourself into a hole here. The whole reason you can do that math with the first two is because in the first two examples, each outcome is equally likely.

The coin argument - a coin COULD land on its edge, so by your logic, there's a 33% of a coin coming up heads on any given flip - is a good one.

Say you weight a die so that it will land on "six" the large majority of the time. That coin could land on one, two, three, four, five, or six - so there's a 1/6 chance of it landing on six, right? RIGHT?

i maintain my statement. i am not denying that at some point, he went from being serious about something stupid to intentionally being stupid, but i am pretty sure that point was at or before he came out with the 50/50 thing. i don't really see the point but what can you do.
1/18/2010 6:31 PM
wow.

so, if 7 people won.... YOU are saying the ODDS of the game would change???

1/18/2010 6:32 PM
What are the odds of making a free throw then if it isn't 50-50 oh wise ones LOL!

there's still two questions looming that you havent even touched. can you please answer.

what are the odds of the sun rising tomorrow?

and if 7 players won your lottery would the odds of the game change??

what are the odds of the sun rising tomorrow? 100%, the sun rises every day

and if 7 players won your lottery would the odds of the game change?? that's impossible because there are 6 million dollar tickets out of 600,000, thus the odds of winning are 1 in 100,000...the Michigan Lottery website backs that, there is enough information...not that hard to figure out. I have 3 tickets...my odds of winning a million bucks is 1 out of 33,333

The odds of making a free throw are 1 in 2...50%

btw, i like how colonels is "lol"ing and "lofl"ing in his past couple posts. . . ..

somewhat smart of him. he's setting up an insanity defense. "oh, i was joking guys". now that he realizes he's completely wrong.

COlonels, there are events that could cause the sun to not rise tomorrow. HOwever unlikely they are, they are indeed possible, Using your math, that means that the chance woudl be one out of two.
