KI is a very poor idea unless you have actually been irradiated with radioactive iodine. You are better off using any chelating compound such as EDTA or even revastrol.

This is not to minimise the damage from Fuku- which is simply colossal. The important thing to understand is that damage increases or decreases to the square of the distance from the radioactive particle. One particle ingested is about as damaging as a million particles feet or yards away just floating around. I personally would avoid eating seafood from the North Pacific for, well, the rest of my life. And if you live anywhere in the Northern US, checking your food sources for radioactivity isn't a bad idea- especially things like milk or predatory fish, which can concentrate radioactive particles.

In any case, do not believe what the Media, Governments,or Corporations tell you. Do not trust anything you do not personally verify. And understand that there is no such thing as a "safe" increase in radiation levels- they go up, cancer rates go up, period.

Out of curiotsty what do you say to the people that the radition levels are no higher than what your cell phone produces? In the US of course....

tell them they have been dumbed-down their whole lives by the tv... if brian williams hasn't said anything, then it must not be important. hahaha. sheep follow sheep. tell them gas prices will go up to 7.50 per gallon before the end of july. then he/she will know the tv is a tool to manipulate your thinking and make you docile. hell, chinese truckers are rioting in shanghai now because gas jumped 5.5% in the last 20 days. still waaaay cheaper than what u.s. pays, and what do people in the u.s. do? oh, the ncaa basketball playoffs are on... dancing with the stars is on tonight... oh, who got cut from american idol? s h i t man, gas is a total bummer, man, pass the pretzles." my god. "oh, eliebowitz, dude, you're just paranoid... radiation isn't anything to worry about. just like cell phones, dude. here, have a beer, i got a new dvd from netflix today. cool alien invasion."
