Lets look at the amount of time between picks.  If you missed a pick I count time against you as soon as you could have made your pick.  Some people had long times because of typical sleeping hours, and then there is the inexcusable...6 picks almost two days from pick 22 in round 1 to pick 3 in round 2.

Big thanks to robocoach, banditone, and xxevilivexx for being the considerate MVP's of this league...you are allowed in my lifeboat.  ljemd and bsumke are allowed in my lifeboat too, but they will likely miss the boat leaving the dock.

Love this. Someone going to calc these averages?  I think it would be cool if in the next draft everyone chips in a $1 WIS credit as part of the entry fee and the person with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place owners with the lowest average wait time get the creds.  That would be interesting....

yea...that was pretty cool malone....but remember this doesnt take into account picks that were made by proxys

Actually it does take proxy into account. When a pick is made to when the proxy is posted is the time I used. Proxy picks were usually made within 10 minutes of the preceding pick. It proves just how much a draft can be sped up by using a proxy.

I will update this with totals upon draft completion

oh...cause i was gonna say it shouldnt go against an owner if he proxys his pick and the other owners dont post it for a long time...but since you said they have been posted almost right away then it doesnt matter

In a progressive league or something like that, I'm usually pretty adamant about owners using proxies, but in something like this, I can understand why owners might not want want to, because players who are listed 2nd or 3rd (or whatever) on their proxy list may very well come back to them when it's their next pick.  I see their desire to not put players' names in the minds of other owners.
5/11/2011 3:05 PM
The best way to handle proxies is this:

I might not be around.  If (my guy) is there, pick him for me.  If not, I'll have to make my own pick on my own time.

That way you give nothing away other than who you/what kind of player you intend to pick.

Of course, if you have no idea, then...

tarheel1991 - Dwyane Wade, Tim Duncan, Marcus Camby, Mookie Blaylock, T.R. Dunn

I assume Dunn forms a back court rotation with Wade & Mookie and you'll be picking your three man in the following round.  If that's what's happening, I dig it and you've got a great foundation no matter what combination is out on the floor.  If not, then I'm not sure what to say.

scudmissle - David Robinson, Julius Erving, Marques Johnson, Horace Grant, Mo Cheeks

You seem dead set against threes, so I'll wish you the best of luck.  I really don't think you have enough boards to make up for the lack of them.

empdenied - Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Carlos Boozer, Wesley Person, Rashard Lewis

You needed more boards at the 3 than Lewis gives you.  You've still got a fairly competitive team; I just think you'll go down quickly in a playoff series versus certain other squads in here.

98average - Chris Paul, Shawn Marion, Zelmo Beaty, Mike Dunleavy Jr, Dan Roundfield

I don't care for the Roundfield pick.  There's about 7 owners before you that could have used him, but with the Matrix already on board, I figured you'd go for more boards at the four (especially with Zelmo at C who is very average).

coachcroft - Kobe Bryant, Dikembe Mutombo, Larry Nance, Peja Stojakavic, Mark Landsberger

Love the Landsberger pick... still against the Peja pick, though.

mikee1 - Ben Wallace, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Willis, Cedric Maxwell, Tyson Chandler

Chandler & Wallace make a delicious front court, especially with Maxwell on board.  I still hate Willis, but if you use the right seasons of Wallace & Chandler, you're in great shape.  I'm still wondering what point guard you're going to use... though there are several still available that are perfect for this squad.

ljemd - Nate Thurmond, John Stockton, Billy Cunningham, Bob Pettit, Joe Dumars

I like your back court.  I don't think it's enough, though, to make up for your low efg%, not great but not bad rebounding, high foul front court.

bsmuke - Fat Lever, Derrick Rose, Walt Bellamy, Zach Randolph, Connie Hawkins

There should be about 7 owners right now that are slapping themselves for letting Hawkins slip by them.  He's the perfect SF in this set-up.  I still don't like the team, but you'll win some games.

ash, i totally agree with your commentary. I just wasn't quite sure what to do, and settled on an in-between. Hopefully a particular fellow I have my eye on falls to me.

I don't see a SF... and you have to start 5 of your 7 draft picks, so... I guess you're playing Barry at SF, which means you're going to be a pretty bad rebound disadvantage.  Bummer, because I really liked what you had going.

this is fine and I will have to own the 7hr delay but you need to throw into the mix some sort of recognition of the overnight bit (cf - my 4 hr delay while I was asleep on a plane across several time zones) - notate the 10p to 8a turn somehow to be fair

Hey I had a 10 hr. overnight one myself...props to you tho in keeping the draft moving by helping with proxies!
5/11/2011 9:24 PM
not just me - shouldnt expect the same across that 10p to 8a divide - that's why it's there - that's a little tougher stretch - not too hard to notate either
5/11/2011 9:32 PM

Rule clarification please. The rule on pg 1 states that drafted players must play the majority of mins at that position. Maybe I was reading it wrong in the past, but I always thought no undrafted player could play more minutes than someone you drafted period. For example the Alton Lister season I want to use is only 600+ min. I will not have another pf/c undrafted with more minutes. However, the way the rule is worded, could I have an undrafted pg play more than 600min as long as they weren't playing more minutes than my other drated eligible pg's?
