You know whats weird?  Two ODL's ago, I drafted Larry Bird 18th I think and a few on the commentary thread suggested "the Bird pick might have been too early", and I had to defend my logic.  This ODL, smokey picks Bird SEVENTH and I didn't hear any shocked comments.

Is that cuz his name is Bird and not Bill Bridges?  LOL  You make one Bill Bridges pick and make the playoffs and you must get a pass for a few years hehe
I'm assuming nothing was said because smokey is known for his unconventional picks.  I would NEVER pick Bird so high.  There are so many other players that fill his role better than he does that were still available at that point.

I did win 53 games with Bird last year, but I probably wouldn't take him that high either.

I didn't want Moses and I know KD is all the rage..but Bird is a much better player. Some #'s Bird/Durant - fg% 52/51, orb 57/17, drb 211/189, ast 178/152, efg% 53.8/55.9 and DEF 90/78 Lastly, Bird makes the opposing player turn the ball over more than any other player on the sim. I'll trade the difference in tres for the def90 every single time. So, if KD belongs in the top 10 so does Bird..duh.

NOTICE - OK, I posted the full schedule on pg1. Pls remember the schedule is a worse case scenario, monitor your sm as frequently as possible and pick asap. Last ODL we carved more than 2 days off the posted schedule. With summer and all that comes with it (woot) we have owners getting ready to go vacationing at the end of next week. So let's roll on this draft..thx.

Think I'll build a "press" team, see if I can break my 42tov's record..(evil chuckle). Target = 45tov's, now you know why Bird...hehe.

if I didn't like trying new things so much, I would have taken him at 14. He might be my favorite ODL player.

I'd have taken Moses 7th if I didn't have a specific team design in mind. I made the 2nd round with my last press team, I think if I knock a few to's & pf's off, it may work out.

I think Bird is underrated, maybe not 7th but he really gives you a lot of options. I won a championship with him... and that's in the most current SIM
