The way this is shaping up, very few of us are left to pick from among the lower-priced seasons. But I have no idea if we can generate enough value to match up with what we're missing out on with more expensive players. The temptation to jump way up the salary board gets higher every round.

I was really really tempted to take Kershaw in round 1 which would have been totally bananas.

I was really really tempted to take him on the 2/3 turn which would have only been mostly bananas.

If enough people jump ahead the remaining owners should gang up and bust them. There are a limited number of hitters available to draft, if several owners leave themselves with too few hitters then some good teamwork by the other owners could take all of them off the board by drafting lower priced versions.
