My first run at an error team just wrapped up, but not without serious end of season drama. With 9 games left to play we were sitting at 86-67, just needed to go 4-5 to reach 90 wins, and we were tracking for around 375 errors (finished with 370), which wasn't quite the 400 I targeted, but was still far enough removed from the current leaders that I felt it could stand the test of time.
Of our remaining 9 games, the last 4 were against the team tied for the division lead with us and whom we had split the season series, thus far. The first of the other games was my last game against bru081668's 79 Angels team that had won 52 games at that point, and whom I had beaten 11 out of 13 times so far. The other four were against the team with the worst record in the league, they hadn't won 50 at this point, and I'd gone 10-0 so far.
So, of course, I lose the first against bru, lose the next four against the team I hadn't lost to all season, and, figures, that of those 5 losses: 3 were by 1-run, the other two were both by 2-runs, and both the 2-run games were lost in the last AB or in extras.
So, now I was faced with a strange do-or-die of having to sweep to both tie-for the last playoff spot, and reach 90 wins for the bounty. Unfortunately, I lost the first game, before winning the next two and losing the final game. Finished with 88 wins and 370 errors. I'm going to probably just re-enter this same team without any modifications and try again...
