I Googled the charges left myself.
I haven't watched ANY of the trial, as I've admitted.
But, my view from what I can tell of that's nights events and HIS role therein IS:
He could get convicted of a Charge of Reckless Endangerment IF the Jury buys the Prosecutions closing argument that Rittenhouse INSTIGATED the events and (thus!) can't claim self defense as that seems to be his ONLY defense presented.
The question, in that case is whether it will be 1st or 2nd Degree.
I believe there was even an extra 2nd degree Reckless Endangerment charge added to the consideration over some Cameraman shooting pics.
You right leaners actually think he'll get off on ALL charges?
The cameraman was Richie McGuinness. Good dude. I like his work. Had seen his stuff before all this went down.
Yeah, I think he’ll get off on all charges.
He was clearly defending himself from Rosenbaum (guy 1).
Guy 2 kicked him in the head while he laying on the ground. He’s known in court as “jump-kick” man. He didn’t actually shoot this guy, but he shot at him twice.
The second guy that he shot hit him in the head with a skateboard while he was laying on the ground.
The guy that he shot in the arm admitted under oath that Rosenbaum didn’t shoot him until he pointed a pistol at his head.
The reckless endangerment charge is null and void if he’s found to be legally defending himself, so if you look at all of the above he should get off on this charge as well.
My views actually have nothing to do with my political leanings. Like I said, I don’t think he should be propped up as a hero. I have withheld judgement on this case (as I do with all cases) until I actually got to see the facts presented in court. After watching it, he is not guilty of the charges against him.
We can debate whether the laws are good laws. That’s actually more of a Wisconsin debate, but I don’t think people should go to jail for being within the law.
My bias typically leans towards the defense in most cases. We shouldn’t be sending people to jail unless we are absolutely certain they committed the crime.
