Uncle Al,
You still haven't answered my question:
I've read the whole thread and I can't understand any of your statements. I'm a right-handed thrower and have played 3B, SS, and 2B in baseball, fast-pitch softball, and slow-pitch softball. I can't wrap my mind around this idea. But I see that no matter the holes poked in your technique, you will defend it. So let me ask a different question:
Why have there been no -handed throwing 2Bs in the majors in 90 years?
Damn prejudice against the Frisbee-flingin', Exorcist-spinnin' southpaws.
That's part of it. I see three basic reasons here:
1) Coaches don't give LH2B a chance. They automatically assume that they will not be as effective for some reason that the Universe has yet to discover.
2) ies accept #1. They are told from a young age that they can't play 2B and so do not try.
3) Practice. Admittedly, it is not possible for a y to do what I have described perfectly on the first try. Or second or third. If 1 and 2 haven't stopped most LH by this point, then they have to learn the throw and practice it until they can get it right. This will frustrate young kids and send even more down 1 and 2...
