Early Entries - seble responds Topic

jesus, looking at that Cook guy (sry only read the first and last pages of this thread) seems like the reaosn im not even that interested in getting a d1 team. that guy is the illmatic, almost maxed in everything, and yet he's a boring piece of the puzzle getting 10 and 6 and only shooting 42%.

W.T.F. ?

He should be getting minimum 12-8, and even then he seems like he could be the dominant Luke Harangody type who is even more successful than that (although I suppose his personal numbers would be better if the team was worse).

orr, I'd definitely send a quick ticket and make sure seble gets a look at that.

Agree or disagree with their basic premise behind early entrees, they can't possibly think that is a good or just outcome.

seble tends to be obtuse when faced with justifiably disgruntled vets. It is quite frustrating. orrdc and gillispie, I feel you, bros. My bet is that seble considers vets like us to be "customers with low chances of leaving" and he is much more interested in increasing total customers, and justifiably so. Having vets lose many, many silly EEs causes much less customers to leave than those theoretically kept by the opportunities (to succeed in DI) created by gutting many of the best and in the ballpark of best teams. I don't agree with it, but maybe that's his approach.

You have to remember that that team last year had a lot of very good players, we didn't needhim to score more then he did.

While I usually would agree with WIS not listening to the vets about issues like EE, seble came in this thread himself and said that he would look at it after the new release. I will give him the chance to honor that and look forward to the changes that should come from taking a closer look.

I'm not sure why you keep calling me "obtuse". We've had very little contact through support tickets.

Since some of the responses attributed to us in here are paraphrased at best, I want to clarify my position on this. I understand the frustration when a team loses multiple players. I've never claimed the system is working perfectly. We have a huge release in the works now, addressing issues that affect every coach at all levels. The early entry issue affects only a handful of teams at most in a given season, which is why it's a lower priority. I've promised that it will be looked at after the next release and it will.

I did send in a ticket, they basically said they are looking into it.

I would like to note that it was the EXACT same response I got in APRIL when I lost 5 guys to EE from a powerhouse Western Michigan team and their E8 run.

Well it has made a huge effect on my team 2 of the past 7 seasons, I guess I am just the lucky one.

Of course those 2 years were the years my team were GOING to be legit NT contenders. First time after a 2nd round NT exit I lost 3 EE, 2 of them guards and thus my team was back to square one. This time I lose 4 players after a 2nd round exit and now have 5 players on the team and we are beyond square one

So my ticket was updated......

"In that ticket the only comment from us was that we may look into it. Now I'm saying it's definitely on the agenda for soon after the next release. You can react to that information however you'd like."

So basically it took them 8 months to look things over and decide yes it needs to changed. So.............I guess 2012 is a good guess for when this will get done

Obviously you're frustrated, which is understandable. But can you understand that on our side we have to look at the game as a whole and prioritize things? You had a bad experience in 2 seasons, whereas the SimEngine, rankings, player quality and development, and tournament seedings affects everyone every season.

Seble I agree that many times frustration can play a big factor with us coaches (I know that it has with me at times) but when we do speak out about things I think you need to look past the frustration (which I do believe you are doing here). All that we want is what is best for HD and I think that every coach realizes that this next big release is HUGE and we are all anxiously awaiting this update. Unfortunetly part of what you inherited when you took over from TK is the poor response that, throughout that tenure, was given to many users of the game when problems were brought up to the dev team and I do believe that many times that still does influence what people see in terms of the development of HD.

I am glad that you have said that you will look into early entries once this new release has been completed and hope that you will continue to utalize the HD community in the development and testing of the game.

Well said, zhawks and gillispie. And seble, please accept my apologies for calling you obtuse. This was not fair and not constructive. I'm frustrated with certain engine issues, but that's no excuse to act like a jerk. Keep doing what you're doing, and if I or any other vet can be of help in explaining how we think such issues should be corrected, just let us know. Thanks for your help.

Ok, ill make a deal, just bring back 2 of my guys, maybe a little explanation like they never signed an agent and we'll call it even (preferably the 2 guards please, thanks!)
