my mistake on the lottery. i though you were referring to a lottery draw. not scratcher tickets or whatever. california has a draw where the amount of winners is not set.

so i was wrong on that. misread. my apologies.

No, COlonels, you haven't even come remotely close.

Again: There are possible ways the sun could not come up tomorrow. It is possible for it to go Nova. Since that is a finite, however small, possibility, it has to be counted as a possible state. T herefore there are two possible states for the sun. Therefore, by your logic, the chance, or odds, of the sun coming up tomorrow are precisely fifty percent.

A guy could have shot 1000 for 1000 at the free throw line, the next time he goes to the stripe, he still only has a 50% chance of making that shot just as he did the 1000 times before. The fact that he's good at it doesn't change the odds of this particular event.

The sun could rise 1,000,000,000,000,000 out of 1,000,000,000,000,000 times.

but the next day the chance of it coming up are 50%. The fact that the sun is good at rising doesn't change the odds of this particular event

We dont know. there is not enough information. there are two possible outcomes. Make/miss. But the odds of either event happening are not necessarily equal.

But you said the sun rises "EVERY DAY" but even if a FT goes in 1000/1000 there is still a 50/50 chance? YOUR ARGUMENTS CONTRADICT THEMSELVES. c'mon dude.

I have two weights, I put them on a scale. They must weigh the same amount because there are two of them, and one divided by two equals "0.5". . .

This gets progressively more hilarious by the post...I never thought we would get to this point, but I'm now conversing with the dumbest people I've ever encountered.

YOu know, calling people dumb is not, in fact, addressing their points.

Its a strange fact.

No they don't....every free throw he took his chances were 50-50...just because he made 1000 straight doesn't mean his chances are any better....its just like the woman rolling the dice...just because she rolled it 150 times in a row, it didn't make her chances of rolling 151 any better. These are INDEPENDNENT EVENTS...not hard to understand.

please explain this statement then! this uses your SAME EXACT LOGIC. yet you stated the chance of the sun coming up tomorrow is 100%

Folks, can we have a vote here? I say 'Troll' because this has to be an act.

The sun ALWAYS comes up, that's a fact...whether you see it or not is irrelevant...plus, we're not talking about the sun here, we're talking free throws. The sun only has one possible outcome....Free throws have 2...do you get it yet?
