That's all one needs to read to realize what a jackass you are.

It's nice to have you popping into this conversation, even if you only do it situationally.

Joyce seemed to think it was kind of a disaster.

"I just cost a kid a perfect game."
"This isn't *a* call. This is a history call, and I kicked the **** out of it. And there's nobody that feels worse than I do."
"I took a perfect game away from a kid over there and he worked his *** off the entire night"
"Probaby the most important call of my career... and I... ****... I missed it."
"I've never had something like this happen to me."

So... again. Maybe it wasn't a disaster for YOU or ME, personally... but some other people seemed like they were pretty involved.

So . . . major league umpires should get do-overs?

Gotcha. That really clears things up. Thanks again, for your participation in this thread.

Wasn't he back on the job 15 hours later? The man is nothing be resilient. Most people, when recovering from a disaster, take at least one day off.

Galarraga has gotten way more attention than the guys who actually threw perfect games. He should talk to Pete Rose about how to make money by not doing something(like making the HOF).

Let's review:

Armando Galarraga has received way more attention (all positive, by the way) for his handling of the situation than has Dallas Braden or Roy Halliday this season for their perfect games.

Jim Joyce has received way more attention (all positive, by the way) for his handling of the situation than has other MLB umpires such as Joe West and Angel Hernandez for their recent misadventures on the field.

Yes indeed. Disasterous, all around. Something needs to be done about this!!

Let's not make light of this disastrous situation. Many, many people have been negatively affected and may never recover. Please help me list them just in case Obama decides to get FEMA involved:

Nearly a whole page filled with the total absence of reasons why the call shouldn't be overturned.

Thanks for proving my point, fellas!

Because it doesn't matter. Pay attention, sufferingbill.
6/8/2010 11:11 AM
Here's why it does matter:

My approach is measured, the the impact to the game is almost entirely nonexistant. In a very small amount of cases, a very small amount of changes will be made, in order to take bad calls and make them right.

Instead of my approach, you idiots are going to let Selig use this regrettable incident as part of his platform for adding more and more invasive replay.

Oh, wait: Selig is a bright, thoughtful guy, and his ideas are always good, so this shouldn't be a problem, right?

That certainly seems to be the opinion of:

Bosux should be listed twice because he seems to be particularly distraught by this disasterous situation. Maybe he can get some help from FEMA and a cookie.
