I chose option 5.  Cutting back and seeing what happens.  I have less then half the teams I used to have, and that number continues to shrink.  Eventually the day will come when I decide I'm done giving them chances...I suspect there will be massive celebrations when that day comes.  I'm not quite there yet.  There's still some fun in the game despite their best efforts to make sure there isn't any.

A skeptical individual might think you cut back to find your comfort level with number of teams.   Most veteran owners have had more than our current number.

On transaction list.  under FA... add $ value of contract.  I hate searching all the signed players to see who signed for what.

VARY PLAYER PROGRESSION
Give DITR a nice bump in CURRENT ratings in addition to projected ratings
Don't EVER go "Live"...some of us have career's and family's

I agree with the no live thing.   And get it out of the standings.  That real estate could be used for something else.

  • Add a random amount of space to the end of each play-by-play boxscore view.  it's sort of maddening to have a 2-run lead in the 8th but see a ton of space and be pretty sure my closer blew it.
  • Allow for one-click "spring training" and "regular season" pitch count settings.  maybe we could set our staffs for the regular season, and have a setting to cut pitch counts by 25%, 50% or 75% for spring training.
  • Allow for SP and RP PC settings for the same pitcher.  if i have a pitcher that starts sometimes and relieves others, i'll want different PCs in each situation
  • Allow for SB setting to be based on opposing C thresholds.  If I'm facing a bad C and set my aggressiveness to 5, it's silly that i'd keep running when a defensive replacement comes in.
  • Allow for circumstantial SB settings.  i HATE when i have first and third, and the guy on first takes off for second.

I am kind of baffled by so many saying  "no live".

This would be an OPTION. If you don't want to play live that's your business, but why be against other owners'  choice to play live if they want to?
9/16/2011 8:10 AM
Because the time spent in developing LIVE is time taken away from developing other new features or fixing.
9/16/2011 8:35 AM
Uh, they admitted they ignored WifS for 12-18 months and you're worried they might spend too much time working on a Live feature?

Odd.

I'd never allow Live in worlds I commish but, if it brings enjoyment to users without affecting me, go for it.

I would imagine there would be entire leagues that were live oriented if they ever went with it.

So basically we are against them developing anything other than what we want.

I don't play GD or HD but I don't begrudge them developing the games or being attentive to them.

I assume that they have a certain amount of resources (i.e. developer time, etc.) that are allocated to HBD, allocated to GD, allocated to HD, etc.

My only concern is about the resources allocated to HBD because I don't play the other games.

While I don't begrudge the people who want and would enjoy LIVE, it's not something that I'm interested in.  I also think that LIVE would involve a fair amount of development.  So my preference would be that the HBD resources be used on other new features of fixes that I would enjoy.

It's a personal opinion.  That's all.

Just saying I don't think we suffered too badly while they ignored us for a year and a half so. if they allocated 90% of their HBD resources to Live development, we'd still be getting 10% more than we have for 18 months.
9/16/2011 9:24 AM
True.

But giving them the benefit of the doubt, and assuming that they truly are going to resume development back to pre-neglect levels, I'd rather not see 90% of their resources spent on features that I (and others) have zero interest in.
