I admit I'm anti the current group of Republican Non-leaders and spineless twits like McConnell who would gladly watch the Country go to hell as long as He did the bidding of the PARTY!

However, I have BIG respect for REAL leaders who have the "R" after their name............guys like Kasich, Flake, etc.
Adios yourself.
I have no interest in reading your repetition of the lies and spin/delusion of the Con in the WH!
I'm too old to mince words about ignorance!

Working class people can't afford the Green New Deal. Many can't scrape up $400 for a budget emergency like tires or a washing machine. Occasional Cortex expects them to retrofit their homes to conform to her green standards? How?

Many are still struggling to afford Healthcare. They pay their premiums. That doesn't mean they can afford the out of pocket costs, the deductibles, the copays, the minimum requirements before their coverage kicks in. Instead they go to an urgent care or ER, pay the copays. If they can afford it. What I am implying is that health insurance does not automatically get you health care.

The UK and Canada have rationalized Healthcare. A lack of participating doctors and facilities cause long waiting times for surgeries and appointments. Appointed boards make determinations as to who is a good candidate and who is not. I personally do not want these people to declare me ineligible then two wheel me out to a field so they can compost my ***.

Please consider what you are asking for. You may not like what you get. Imagine your healthcare facility resembling the DMV.

sounds like a horrible economy.

No it is poor policies in action, heavy taxation that accomplishes far less than it should. We have a bloated, inefficient government that some want to give more authority and funds to, despite their inability to properly function. Is why some of us want them shackled, give the power and money to state and local government so it can hopefully be done more efficiently.

If you had me invest your money, and I without fail continuously frittered it away, always short changing you, doing an overall abysmal job, would you really want me to continue being your money manager? That is how many of us view our government doing the people's work with far too much of our money...

dont agree with your foundation.
same arguments always given from 1932 onward.

Consider that every pencil, every sheet of paper, every desk, chair, or building belonging to the Federal government, and every check they write is essentially a tax, or requires one. Do you know that the Obama administration, and some before it, could not account for every building it owned? It is a pile of excrement at doing anything efficiently. Have you ever had a government agency exceed your expectations, provide a service cheaper than you expected? If so, it is likely a rare occurence.

To those who are aware of my anal retentive observation of subject, I rest my case. Signing off...

Hmmm, on one hand we have a bloated, inefficient government that some want to give more authority and funds to. On the other hand, we have people complaining about too much money in political campaigns. Kinda seems like there might be a common solution to both problems. If the government wasn't so bloated and full of authority over so many aspects of the economy, would it make much sense for anyone to invest a lot of money trying to get favored politicians in charge of that government? It's a crazy idea, I know, but maybe if we didn't expect the government to regulate so many things and spend so many trillions of dollars, we wouldn't have incentive for so much money to flow into campaigns.

Bostonians boycotted the EITC over a 2% tax. Well that and the King's decree that they couldn't do business with other merchants.

I'm glad I checked back into this thread, the last few pages have been so much more entertaining. I had thought laramiebob's posts were hopeless, just variations of the-pot-calling-the-kettle-black, but he came through with this gem a few pages ago:
"While there ARE (seemingly) networks that lean left (MSNBC?) MOST news networks at least TRY to maintain the journalistic canons they learned at their Journalism schools----like the Walter Cronkite school at ASU! THOSE institutions STRESS the importance of unbiased reporting. "

Wow. I bet even the rank-and-file at MSNBC, CNN, CBS, PBS, ABC, NBC would roll on the floor laughing at that one. I'll have to check back tomorrow to see if someone tops that one.

I do not believe my purpose here is to provide for the collective. My view of government is that it performs functions on behalf of its citizens. That it exists to serve the people, not that we exist to serve it. It is a basic and distinct disagreement of the purpose of a central government.

Yeah Walter leaned a wee bit left. Perhaps the camera angle made it seem less obvious.

Today there is no question of their affiliation. Weeping openly on Election Night...a tell???

The View? Rename it Left Turn Lane...

What I don't get is why alienate half your potential viewers. Kimmel could have great ratings...Carson stayed away from politics, other than making jokes about both sides. He remained publicly impartial. They can't...not too bright. They choose to use their celebrity to voice their opinion. They cut their own throat. DeNiro has cost his recent films a lot of money. People won't buy a ticket to see him work. The awards shows are tanking...Bravo.

I made no statement on Walter Cronkite the individual. NONE!
I really have no idea IF HE leaned anyway at all.

However, the Journalistic SCHOOL that bears his name most certainly DOES stretch professionalism and unbiased reporting.
Bigly!!
To claim otherwise is just more right-wing stupid attacks of our educational institutions which they TRY to spin as all left.
They most Certainly are NOT all left.
As I've stated repeatedly I had two children attend the U of A. I spent about 9 years visiting that campus.
The Republicans are absolutely every bit as present on that campus as ANY other "group".
AND as vocal!

Dannyjoe's statement about my comment on the Cronkite school is just more ignorant spin/lies.
Though I don't doubt that HE believes it.
That's the problem.............so many folks believing in lies they've been repeatedly told by one side of the spectrum or the other!!!
Colleges are NOT all hotbeds of communism and social fomenting and experimenting.
To claim otherwise is just complete BULLSHIT!!
