CTRYonker you get 1933 White Sox .Appling and Simmons could help you but no real pitching gems with anyone with a good amount of innings. Getting tougher to find good screw teams

Chazzz said he can't access site from work but will pick once he gets home.

Ok, it's the middle of the third round, so there is no perfect screw out there. I'll hand szczubulek the 1973 Detroit Tigers. One position player over 4M, and he's got a .297 OBP. One pitcher under a 1.25 WHIP and he's got 120 IP. Just a whole bunch of meh. Fine for filling out a roster, but not fine for actually being, you know, good, and winning games and stuff.

eman sent me a proxy for Chazzzzz's third round screw.

Chazzzz gets the 1933 Brooklyn Dodgers.

eman, like many people, at this stage of the draft I have to lament the lack of a "perfect screw" team for you. Your first team, the 53 Yankees, is very strong across the board; top to bottom of the roster; hitting and pitching. Your second team, the 53 Pirates, not so much. You are a little weak up the middle of your infield so, with that in mind, and in keeping with the solid 1953 "I like Ike" vibe of your team: please welcome the 53 Cincinnati Reds. Let's see if you can shoehorn Big Klu and 5 of his friends into a $80M roster.

Once the third round ends I will put timeslots back on. You can skip teams in the fourth round if their time is up.

For many teams, their fourth round pick may be the most agonizing of all. We should all be looking for good fourth round fits once you get your third round team handed to you.

To remind, you must use at least six players from each of your teams on your final roster. You can use any, at bats and innings pitched the player actually had for that team. I will check everyone's roster for accuracy before we start. I think next time I do this league I'm going to standardize the way everyone sees the players by saying you can only use the players that load when you load the team together. For the teams with 26 + players that won't catch everyone but at least it won't have at bats that aren't part of that team and the system I think needs to be standard. That's for next time though. For this time however you do your searches, you can use any at bats and innings played for that team that year.

Remember your final roster must have exactly these following primary positions

2 catchers
2 first base
2 second base
2 third base
2 shortstops
5 outfielders
10 pitchers

The primary position is shown in bold. Once the season starts you can play a player at any position where he has a WIS rating.

Some of us will end up with teams very different from the ones we like to build. Come up with a team name that kind of captures your team's zeitgeist.

Oops, actually we're waiting for Maddove to screw rls before calhoop goes. Maddove is looking for his pick to come in tonight. Things have slowed down here at the end of round three.

Ok. Hear me out. A screw team is meant to make it difficult for you to build a roster. There are a few ways to do that. 1. Give them absolute dreck. 2. Carefully give them a team that doesn't let them fill holes or roster cheap back-ups or 3. Albatrosses. Rls1, I give you albatrosses and where this team doesn't do well, you're not doing well to begin with...Welcome to the 1923 NY Yankees.

I had seriously considered that as my screw. I applaud your courage

maddove117 has a couple of Indians team - 1953 and 1973.

Only one pitcher under 1.24 WHIP on the combined rosters and that is 28 innings of 73 Ken Sanders. Who knows, maybe that 1.24 - 1.28 WHIP is the sweet spot for 80mm teams these days but I don't want to give him anybody that could be considered an ace.

As for hitting, not much at Catcher, 1b or SS although not hurting for scrub backups. 3b is pretty covered even without the unaffordable 53 Rosen. Outfield is pretty difficult to control.

We will gift him the 1953 NY Giants primarily because the lowest WHIP pitcher is Larry Jansen at 1.30 but HR prone. Absolutely no help at C. SS Al Dark is good but at over $7mm may be a tough fit. There are usable OF here but overall the lack of pitching help makes this a pretty decent addition.

Interesting to think of these 1953 Indians and Giants sharing the same locker room not knowing what was ahead the following year with the Willie Mays catch in the WS. No Mays or Wertz on these rosters, however. Enjoy!!

For Calhoop
We gift you the 1973 Milwaukee Brewers. No help up the middle, and 1 serviceable pitcher. But you do have USMC Tim Johnson, who unfortunately did NOT participate in combat.

Enjoy

Time for timeslots?

vilefileman's '73 A's were screwed last round with the '63 Senators, a team that offers pitching + outfielders, but not much else. And those position players are in the 1-3M purgatory range, tough to field 6 with an 80M cap. The '73 A's, of course, already offer pitching and outfielders. So how to further muddy this pie? The 1933 Cleveland Indians offer a few pitching options and one OF. Otherwise, these guys are in the 1-3.5M range with low slugging and on-base #s. vilefileman is looking at expensive, middling backups.
