Questions like that always come back to the make-up of the team.    I prefer depth.   But, if I have depth, I'd take the lone stud. 

How many players do you typically turn over from season to season?  Is there a MikeT minimum roster changes from the previous season to keep competitive?

Usually around 5-6 per season.   It depends on the age of the team, of course.   I'm more likely to keep a pitching staff intact.    Pitchers age differently.

Any pitcher can be a starter.  You just have to accept his limitations.    I've used 50 stamina with 27 durability as SP.  I figured he was giving me 3-5 innings and then I moved on to the pen.    I'd probably use the 70/45-50 guy as a tandem.   Or trade him if I didn't feel like fooling with him every other day.

I'm pretty sure all the animals in the animal kingdom don't change their affiliations because you play with their teats.
