I liked There Will Be Blood better than No Country

There Will Be Blood is really intense to watch when you're stoned.  The soundtrack alone gave me PTSD.

That was probably my problem with it. I went in expecting Raising Arizona / Fargo levels. It certainly wasn't Ladykiller / O Brother bad.

Saw True Grit last night. Fantastic dialogue. Overall, just above average, though..

Just saw it - thought it was amazing. Certainly better than the John Wayne version.

I saw it Christmas night as well.  I agree that the dialogue was fantastic, but I also think the camera work (especially on the wide shots) was some of the best I have seen in a while.  The lighting on the night shots was fantastic as well.  I thought Damon's character was sort of poorly done but I would still say it was one of the top couple of movies on the year.

I agree that it is in MWWT range, but I put Blood Simple much lower.

We all agree that Lady Killers was the worst, right?
