STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 2009-10 Topic

I guess we agree to disagree Andru..I love Edler and Hamhuis as well but Edler has had some horrendous games in these playoffs, and Hamhuis isnt immune to the bad glaring give away.. Bieksa had a great year +/- wise ,plays physical ,shuts down players ..im not saying he is the next Orr but i think he deserves some votes in the Norris trophy voting ,he had a great year for a guy Management probably would have  dealt if not for the team's injuries..I would hate to see the guy traded, he is a character player ,and that shows in the playoffs where players of lesser character seem to disappear (Sedins)

randle, I never thought I'd say this, but I find it hard to argue with anything in this post.

I hear what your saying Andru, by theway i was just trying to get  a rise out of you on the R.Bourque comment...accomplished...we all know juice isnt any where near  Bourque..but i do think he needs some acknowledgement on a decent year...if he gets a ring ? all the better..  Juice and Kesler lead this team, both character guys

Corey Crawford has signed for 3 years at 8 million...nice work Mr. Bowman.

Sooooo

~$8 mil to spend on or replace RFAs (Frolik, Brouwer, Stalberg, Dowell, and Campoli) and UFAs (Turco, Hendry, Kopecky, Pisani, Johnson)

Good Luck!

Well the good thing is that they actually can go over the cap by about 10 million so is re-signing Frolik and/or other RFAs is a priority, then they can still get all the deals done and make trades or send guys to the minors afterwards. They just need to be under the cap by October 1st. I'm still not convinced they need to trade anyone, but I think Brian Campbell has played his last game as a Hawk.

Either way, the Crawford signing was a must for Bowman and I think 2.66 for 3 seasons is a reasonable deal. Similar to what Carey Price and Jaroslav Halak got last summer.

That said, Kopecky, Pisani, Turco and Hendry will all be playing elsewhere next season...not the worst thing in the world if you ask me.

That's more than enough $$$.  We just signed our backup goalie for next year for 600K.  Worry about winning something yourself for a change.

did you miss last season?   You might wanna worry about winning something with that embarrassment of a team the hawks put out there last season.... or are you always going to refer back to the cup you won back in 2010.  Old news.

As for me - I am worried about winning something - the flyers have ******* blown at goalie as long as I've lived.  I'm game for trading Richie to get a top netminder (something like a Price, Quick/Bernier, or Rinne).  I'm disgusted by my team and their performance this season - you seem content the hawks made the playoffs.

$8 mil is not enough money for the hawks.  They sucked with this team as is - and they will suck again if they keep the team as is.  The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.  The hawks now have seen the formula for a stanley cup champion team - yet they will go yet again with NO DEPTH!!!  Idiots.

Going over the cap is not ideal since to get back below teams will rip you off. The hawks lose leverage if they 'have' to trade.
