Hawks as is are a 6-10 team in the west... just like last season.  If you are content being on the bubble every season then leave things like they are.  If you want to improve you need to make some unpopular moves.  The team needs TOUGHNESS (i.e. physicality) above all - but it also needs true Centers, 3rd/4th Liners, PKers, and a 3rd pairing on D.  Trade Kane and Campbell (~$14 mil each season in cap for 5 seasons) and get more players like Toews that come to play every day, every shift... that play physical 2-way games.  

However --- this is my prediction considering how pathetic management runs this team - everything stays the same except they deal Brouwer (high physicality, low turnover player) to free up cash to sign more crap players like last seasons end of the bench.  Thats the exact opposite of what should be done.  Mark my words.  western conf 6-10 team again and they will deal Brouwer (for less than he is worth because of the injury) before the season begins.  Take that to your CI buddy and tell him thats how to make predictions ;)

That "pathetic" management is still the defending Cup champs.  I agree with a lot of what you said, but describing them as pathetic is, well, pathetic.
