A problem is a lot of teams picking early in draft are either picking there because they don't know what they're doing and maybe don't budget well enough, or they're new owners who can't budget that well anyway. So there are usually a few really good players that slip into the teens.
NL teams with a 1b men in the system won't look at him. Â Also, look at how many pitchers are taken in the first historically, maybe you have a pitching heavy drafters.
I don't really consider positional depth when I set my draft board. I usually just go best player available and figure that if they're good enough, I'll make it work out. And if I so happen to draft into a surplus, it's not like I'm shy about making trades.
