Uncle Al,
You still haven't answered my question:
I've read the whole thread and I can't understand any of your statements. I'm a right-handed thrower and have played 3B, SS, and 2B in baseball, fast-pitch softball, and slow-pitch softball. I can't wrap my mind around this idea. But I see that no matter the holes poked in your technique, you will defend it. So let me ask a different question:
Why have there been no -handed throwing 2Bs in the majors in 90 years?
Damn prejudice against the Frisbee-flingin', Exorcist-spinnin' southpaws.

That's part of it. I see three basic reasons here:

1) Coaches don't give LH2B a chance. They automatically assume that they will not be as effective for some reason that the Universe has yet to discover.

2) ies accept #1. They are told from a young age that they can't play 2B and so do not try.

3) Practice. Admittedly, it is not possible for a y to do what I have described perfectly on the first try. Or second or third. If 1 and 2 haven't stopped most LH by this point, then they have to learn the throw and practice it until they can get it right. This will frustrate young kids and send even more down 1 and 2...

Ohhhhhh I get it now. He's just a down on his luck southpaw with something to prove and nothing to lose.

Uncle Al is...

The y.

Similarly, guys who weigh 220 pounds are told from an early age that they can't be jockeys, so they do not try. But the truth is, if he contorts his body into a specific yoga position and balances on one foot atop the saddle, a middle linebacker could win the Kentucky Derby.
Paraplegics are told from an early age that they can't dunk a basketball, so they do not try. But the truth is, if a paraplegic develops enough arm strength, he can push off of the armrests of his wheelchair while shifting his weight forward and propel himself 10 feet in the air. Then he can take an alley-oop pass, jam home a tomahawk dunk, and if he really works at it, he can land right back in his wheelchair, ready to get back down the court to play defense.
It's all about close-minded people with their stereotypes and their antiquated notions of what people can and can't do.

I know I could beat the **** out of Wladimir Klitschko. THE MAN is just HOLDING ME DOWN and not giving me the chance.

I'd pay to see you try.

Oh I would! But THE MAN is stopping me. I was told at a young age that I couldn't be the heavyweight champion of the world. I couldn't get any of the big name coaches to give me a chance. EMANUEL STEWARD WOULDN'T RETURN MY CALLS!

I've practiced every day and night, but they won't let me in the ring with him. They're just afraid I could do it. Klitschko would go down by the 3rd round.

i would guess that the second basemans natural throwing motion to the ss on a dp would cause the ss to catch the ball to the and slow down the chances for a dp.Still, I would think some ies would be given a chance in all these years

Blind people are told from an early age that they can't play quarterback in the NFL, so they do not try. But the truth is, if a blind man studied the playbook hard enough (in Braille, of course) and developed the timing with his receivers, he could be able to hit them right on stride with 70-yard bombs and delicate crossing patterns. He could use his heightened sense of hearing to detect oncoming pass rushers.
But the damn prejudice against blind people quarterbacking in the NFL holds them back.

farley: Well said.
mikeclaw: Wow. You do realize that being blind impedes your ability to play the game whereas being -handed does not. Horrendous analogy.
