winnerpeg - the Canadiens can't select Khabibulin (he's on the Oilers, and the Oilers are taken).

Sorry this started without warning, but it was advertised that that would happen since this league started.

Question...If a player is technically under contract with a team, but will NOT be playing for that team this season, is he eligible to be drafted?

Tomas Vokoun (from the Florida Panthers but from a different season;)

Nice pick indeed.

It was always supposed to start as soon as the league got filled. I sent a warning that we were only a team away a couple of days ago. I was away all day yesterday when the league actually filled, so I wasn't able to send out an "on your marks" message. But it was supposed to be your own responsibility to check frequently.

LTIR players that will miss most of or the whole season, minor leaguers whose contracts are written in on nhlnumbers.com, and so forth, can be on your roster.

Players who are not under contract, who retired, or who the NHL to play in Europe cannot be on your roster.
